A little over a month ago I did some SEO for a decent keyword phrase, according to the Google keyword tool it gets 14,000 visit per month from US alone (Exact Phrase). Well today I visited Google.com and saw my page #1, however I still haven't recieved traffic from that keyword. I checked my results on Google.co.uk and I saw my serp still on page 4. So I thought my serp probably haven't kicked in yet, after going through all the Google data centres I found the same thing. So my question is, how long does it take for the data centres to update? ... Thanks!
One thing that you need to be careful about is clicking on your own url in the SERPS as Google now provides personalized search results even if you are not logged into your gmail account. Its a little strange that your not getting any traffic for such a high searched for keyword. I would suggest you clear your cookies and flash cookies. also on the googles search page you will have a link that reads 'web history' click on it and turn the personalized results off.
When you google one of your own keyword phrases and find yourself on page one it is kinda like an IM'ers drug rush.
Google keyword tool shows data from Google search and from their network. So 14000 is not the search volume in google.com. Try SK tool or traffic to get nice estimation for search volume in google.com or .co.uk Cheers,
