Hii.. Can anybody tell me about link operator in Google. How it works and how Google examine back links suppose i have a websites xyz.com when i check the url in Google link:xyz.com its shows back link from same domain what it is and why same domain back link comes . if any body confused with my question please let me know. and suppose anybody got a back link from virus infected sites then how to overcome this.
it goes page by page. your home page is one page, then there are others. when you put link:xyz.com it shows all links to the index page. i dont think Google link command is a good way to check backlinks. i would rather suggest using yahoo for that.
how exactly it works.. not sure.. since its part of google algorithm... and by the way google don't show all backlinks using the link command..
1) Google's [link:yoursite] search operator helps to find out links pointing to that url. A link can be from the same domain or from other domain. 2) You need to create Google's webmaster tool account to your website to find out various stats like infections, errors, link-counts etc.. He is asking about the backlinks not about index process by Google. FYI: Google's [link:] operator is to only find out links pointing to that URL. That's fine and what about his other question: virus infected site? Just similar to the above reply
