    So, yesterday when I searched my name I noticed I couldn't even find my personal websites on google. It used to be positioned right below some photographer who I share a name with. I have no idea what happened. Can anyone shed some light, and what I can do?

    Maybe it's because I'm using that Yoast SEO plugin? It helps me include my keywords in my posts and titles and stuff, but i haven't used them excessivly.

    Also, about a couple weeks ago i noticed I started getting referralls from some site called
    http://semalt.com , I have no idea what this is...

    Whats going on?

    my page is robbyk.com

    hello Robby Klein
    My suggestions...
    1. Make a more detailed about us page - currently it is about 100 words, make this 300 words and your name should come atleast 4 times in 300 words about us page on your website.

    2. Make your linkedin profile and do a cross connection - site to linkedin and linkedin to your website.

    Hope above 2 actions will give boost and should solve the problem to some extent.

    thanks

    Google has a tendency to bury websites in the rankings for no reason. Including cases where keyword competition is low, such as personal websites being buried when the webmaster searches for his or her own name.

    Often in cases like this, if you have your website associated with Google Webmaster Tools or Google Analytics, you will receive an email after your site is suppressed in the rankings soliciting you to buy advertising from Google.

    I have been making websites for several years now. With pretty much every site I have made, Google ranks it well a for a while then buries it in the rankings, then sends me an email trying me to pay them for advertising to replace the traffic I just lost.

    I think having all the "semalt.semalt.com / referral" traffic in your GA hurts your site in the end.

    I'm sure there is some sort of block to stop these semalt spam nutjobs from damaging your site.

    I found this bit of code, by a guy called A. Prajapati

    <script type='text/javascript'>
    var blocklink = ['http://darodar.com', 'http://econom.co',’http://ilovevitaly.com];
    for (var b = blocklink.length; b--;) {
    if (document.referrer.match(blocklink[b]))
    window.location = "http://google.com/";
    }
    </script>

    Code (markup):
    You just need to add it to your site code, or in your header.php just after head tag, if you use wordpress.
    It will block referrer spam from ..
    ilovevitaly.com
    econom.co
    darodar.com

    Keep those Rusky Spammers at bay.
