noitartst.com My blog is up, I'm regularly updating, and I'm using long tail and body keywords, but is it the right approach for my topics, namely politics, social commentary, and ideas, in general? It took me month figure out just how to SEO, and now I know it, well, I'm now questioning its value. TO SEO right, I understand I hafta keep SEOing the same keyword, or variations thereof, blog after blog, and for an SEO strategy to work, I need to blog every day, I understand. Wlee, my focus is a bit diverse, and whill in I can SEO my article, the natural variation of my topics means I need to SEO a radically different keyword, or to be specific, phrase, constantly. Is it worth it, for me to focus on SEO, or to do something else? COntent's king, and my content's good, dare I say, but it hasn't done me much good by the numbers yet.
Understanding SEO will take you much longer than one month. SEO is always worth it, even if you don't plan to use it as your main traffic strategy you can always rank for something and get even more traffic to your site. 1. You don't need to blog everyday. You need to produce high quality content, if you do it on a daily basis perfect, but the time frame is not what will get you ranking, the quality is what will do it. 2. You don't need to SEOing the same keyword. You need to stick to a subject, Google is getting better and better to understand the content of a website, don't worry about including keywords everywhere, make sure you are on a subject and stick to it. If you are looking for long term rankings and become an authority website/blog forget about SEO and worry about engaging users, creating incredible content, make sure your readers will share your content and will mention you and your blog when they talk about similar subjects. This is what will get you thousands of visitors.
QUOTED: Understanding SEO will take you much longer than one month... SEO is not just a book to read more than one month... You have to be up to date and read EVERY single day to keep your blog and eventually help your clients if you also offer SEO services. Also, don't work on the same keyword. Choose one main keyword and a few secondary. For best results I would use only secondary keywords that consists of the main keyword. Example: dog training (free dog traning for a secondary keyword!)
Sounds like you're focussing too much on ensuring your content is optimised for the search engines. I think you would be better advised to spend the next month just writing a couple of articles a week and focus on writing insightful content that people would want to share. The rest of the time should be spent backlinking using diverse methods and maybe even spending time contributing on other peoples sites so that you can get yourself noticed as an expert within your field. Good luck and keep at it!
I have been placing unique content on some of my sites for months now... I have seen no evidence to this day that content is king. When I bought the site, the seller said, if you put unique content on the blog, then you will make "mad money" I did not believe it then, and months later, I still have not seen a single penny as a result of the unique content..... dont get me wrong, I try to stay on topic, use keywords, long tail keywords, and I only use 2-3 per article, and my posts do get indexed, but that seems to be as far as that goes...
Well, now I know a little about SEOing, and I think it obliges me to do at least some of it, I mean, not to an obsessive amount, but some. I think I know how to use SEOpressor, now and it strikes me as not a bad way to get exposure. I do want to be an authority, but still, I need folks to see my content, and it's not happening. SEO aside, then, what do I do? Backlinks? Hm. I think I'm starting to get this, but keep in mind, I'm just running a blog, and ain't trying to sell anything. And, I think I'm getting the general idea. In my last post, I was telking "George W. Bush," but didn'ty SEO it. Instead, I SEOed "George W. Bush legacy," instead. Next post, I won't talk about Bush, but something else, but whatever it is, I'll follow the same approach, going for a a variation of the root keyword. Sound? How many hits a day do you average? What is your theme, and what are your competitors?
If you are looking to grow your readers base focus on Social Media, get your Facebook page and Twitter profile, make sure you use the # and to begin get your friends to share your posts. If your content is good people will come back. You can also try to get your readers to sign up for your feed so when you post something new they'll know about it... Why aren't you interested in becoming an authority website? This is the web, everything is possible!
