Ok. I'm a happy man tonight! About a year ago I was looking into building a chat site. I looked through overture at the highest searched keyword phrases for this market. I found that the term "Live Online Chat" was almost at the top. I then searched for a domain name to use for my site. To my surprise, liveonlinechat.net was available, I snapped it up for $8.95. I built a landing page and did a bit of meta tag optimization, added a few more seo tools and bought a flash chat script for $5. I used the flash chat script to create a site that requires no registration free chat. I added adsense banners to the chat room to help towards the hosting. I used some of my seo software to submit it to all the major search engines and directories then left it to work on my classifieds sites. A month ago I got an email off my hosting company to tell me that liveonlinechat.net was using up too much of their server. I had started work on a chat community using Boonex and didnt want to switch companies as all of my scripting was on that host, it was the flashchat script that was taking up their server, not boonex. I had to buy another domain name, fuerteventurachat.info, and then use another host to host this domain and move the flashchat script to this host using the liveonlinechat.net as the landing page redirecting users to the new domain, fuerteventurachat.info. I had to find out why the flashchat room had gotten busy. I typed in the search term "live online chat" to find it number one in most search engines including the main one, we all know, out of 12,000,000 results. I was shocked to say the least. I then typed in a couple more search terms, "flash chat rooms" 3rd, "chat no registration" 4th, "chat rooms no registration 7th, etc. Tonight is the busiest I have seen it and have decided to add a paid vip chat room because I think I am going to need the cash to move to a dedicated server that I can then add flash hosting script to allow video chat etc. Take a look at my work and see what you think. www.liveonlinechat.net Cheers Simon.
Thank you. Im really enjoying it to be honest! I dont want to change the landing page because it might effect its ranking in the search engines.
good work..... its a typical social networking site..... but still u change layout...... its looks so darker...... you have some programming errors too.......... uploading options are not clear..... plz give sum registrations for the site..... so it will looks better....
The actual Boonex community part is not what I am working on. The flash chat rooms without the registration part is the bit that has become busy. Lat night there was 30+ people in one of the chat rooms and I am getting regular chatters. I have now also appointed 3 moderators who moderate the flash chat rooms around the clock. This is a buzz! Do you think the site may be worth something?
How many sites have you built previously out of interest? When I began I had awful sites that made a lot of money...then I improved design and cosmetics and sometimes they worked and sometimes they didn't. I don't like the colour scheme.
I started with download sites, ugly horrible single page buy now downloads using microsoft publisher. I now have around 32 sites. I reckon that having all of these sites has been the problem with not making much money. Since I have started to concentrate on liveonlinechat.net and the classifieds sites, the traffic has doubled. This what I am going to do. Concentrate on 3 sites and leave the rest alone, obviously I will renew the domain names and hosting etc, but liveonlinechat.net, freeukclassifieds.com and postfreeads.net is where the money lies in the future, my 8 year millionaire plan!!!!
I do get a lot of traffic from people wanting to chat and the banners are normally things associated with chat rooms. Its not a good high paid target though.
