I was doing some backlinking to one of my web pages last week in a certain forum. A couple days ago, someone responded to my comment and he included my link. I responded to him and again, putting the same link to my web page. So basically, within the same blog on the same page, there are three links pointing to the same page. My page w/in my niche that I was backlinking to was ranked #24. After I responded on this blog (where three links are pointing to my site) - the page dropped out of sight...though, it was still indexed. The next day, I looked at it again, and Google ranked my at #56. I'm thinking that the reason why Google penalized me was because it thought I was spamming. Anyone agree? Or does someone have another answer to my situation?
goolgle will not penalized you website for 3 links on one page, maybe you have done something like change title tags or googles just re-index your site.
you need some powerful links relevant to your site to get it in top 10. however it happens with me most of the time keep patience and build more links you will get in top 10 sooner.
3 links are irrelevant to conclude at once that you are being penalized for those. Not unless, after adding the links, you reached the 100 links per page rule of Google (see Google webmaster tools). Just a thought.
Google is a robot (machine) it will Penalize you only if someone reported you as a spammer or doing illegal actions on your website
It doesn't work that way. Google has a way of measuring and auditing but then there are also some manual auditing going on too.
I don't think they would bother penalizing a site that was #24. It's more likely due to natual fluxuations. J
As mintoj said it was most likely a fluctuation. Just keep building quality links and you will get your rank back up easily. Josh
Look in some of the threads here, the sig links in a few peoples posts get blasted into the same 20 posts of a given page here on DP 5-10 times in some cases. If that was enough to worry about then I'd assume the overal post counts here on DP would be considerably less.
yah just think about it this way, if thats all it took to penalize the site, competitors would have a page with 3 links pointing to your site. Backlinks would never hurt you...they help or do nothing! if your page is new just give it a bit of time......itll go from 20 something to 50 something back to 30 somthing....it moves for a while then it stabilizes over time...
#24 is not a stabled position in SERP and moving to 56 is normel and do porper SEO and make quality BL. Also update the content... will get better in SERP...I do not thing the issue from those BL
I guess, there are several new comers in your niche, and as usual those new websites will get high ranks for a week or two then drop to where they rightfully belong, if you know what I mean. In fact based on your information, your position is not very good either (it's on page 3 SERP, right?) so in my opinion it doesn't matter if you are on #24 or #56 or even #100, if you're not at top 5 SERP means there are a whole lot of jobs need to be done. So start reviewing what you have and haven't done to SEO your website. Cheers,
