It has been a week exactly since I launched my first product and I am finally starting to get a trickle of real traffic. It isn't a lot but it is starting to come slowly but surely. I have been doing everything I could to generate some real customers ie. writing articles, SEO, Submissions, Blog, you name it I have been working on it. Today has shown some real improvement and I think things may be turning around for me. I am going to keep at it and keep my chin up. I know my product is quality I just have to find the right audience for it. Wish me luck I am hoping the next few months things really pick up and just maybe I might start to see some sales. LOL! My first bit of traffic seemed to mainly come from my affiliates signing up but I am starting to see them generate a bit of traffic themselves now as well. Fingers crossed.
Hi Robin, Great news....glad its coming through for you. By the way I was one of your website visitors I sent you a PM....would appreciate it greatly if you would reply. Dave
oh sorry I saw that, I have just been spread super thin this week. I meant to get back to you on that. I will send you a reply right now.
Great man. Even if the results don't end up as you expected the important thing is that you took action. Remember that there is no such thing as failure unless you don't learn anything from the experience. Keep up the good work
Wish you the very best, just as you said keep your chin up and be patient. Eventually, your traffic will improve and keep doing your seo work too.
Sounds like you're doing the right things; keep it up! Don't spread yourself too thin though. I find it's better to concentrate on doing one or two things well rather than a lot of things poorly. But if it's working for you, keep doing it. All the best Ray
Grats! sounds like a good beginning for a 1st week. I remember how mezmorizing it is to check stats every hour and see how it is going
Thats exciting news. We spend so much time getting the product and site ready, hurry, hurry, hurry so we can wait and watch. It does get tiresome keeping our anticipations in check. Wishing you all the luck IM has to offer...
Thanks everyone, Things are going great and I am feeling good about my decisions. Here is some of what I have personally learned along the way... I feel sometimes like I have been critiqued to death over my sales page. Some of them I never even ask for but here is what I have finally decided. You can't please everyone all the time so you gotta please yourself. I have changed many things on my sales copy to make others think it is good then there is always someone who says I would change this or that. I like advice but sometimes I think you just have to say thank you and move on. If not I would have never finished my sales page. LOL! I have a few people tell me your price is too high. How do they know? They didn't spend the time and energy to write this book and they have no clue what it is worth. Sure my price maybe high for some people, but if there is one thing I have learned in the business world is it is never a good idea to under price yourself. Those people that think my price is too high simply aren't looking for what my book has to offer. They most likely wouldn't buy it if it was a $1 so why should I change for them. And last but not least... Building traffic isn't hard but it does take time to see results. And that is just my opinion on a few things.
Congratulation for getting success, although it is at the initial level, I hope it will be an establish way for your to go ahead. Wish you all the best.
Nobody can tell you whether your price is too high other than your customers. You asked people to suggest why they thought people might be getting to the clickbank sales page and then cancelling. I suspect (but I don't know) that $100 might be a price barrier for your market but only your market can tell you that. Also, I did suggest you might want to do some price testing when you get enough traffic (you're right to concentrate on getting traffic first). The principle behind price testing goes something like this: Would you rather sell 1 ebook a day at $99 or 5 ebooks a day at say $27 each? Or then again, would you rather sell 5 at $27 each or 4 at $37 each? You get the idea? At some point between $1 and some exorbitant price there is a price that will give you the best return on investment. But again, nobody can tell you what that is other than your customers. You might find that $149 is the best price to sell at though I doubt it. The thing is, it's pointless asking people in a forum like this whether you've got your marketing right; nobody can tell you for sure. The only people who can are your customers. Theirs is the only opinion that matters. And please don't take offence when I say this but it doesn't matter how much work you've put into creating yoiur product, your customer won't care about that. It doesn't matter how fantastic you think your ebook is if your customer doesn't think so (can you see a theme here? ). You seem to be doing okay getting traffic so my humble advice would be keep doing what you're doing and start testing when you have enough traffic to do so.
I think the reason people are complaining about your price is because it's not often you see $99.00 pricetags on e-books - no matter how good the quality. Especially with "newer" faces on the industry. If you're not getting sales... then maybe it is time to reconsider the pricing of the product. Perhaps have a week sale... where people can get it for half of the price ... it creates need and a sense of urgency in your buyers to get it before the price increases to $99!! Cheers!
You must believe on your self otherwise nobody would believe you. Thats the power of positif thinking.
