hi my site is http://www.boratsoundboard.net i just put it up a few days ago by day 2 i had it indexed and it was #9 on first page for "borat soundboard" however now today you cannot even find it in googles serps. not even if i type the whole domain in.
Heard of the sandbox? There are tons of other threads documenting it, and it sounds as if you may have found your way into it.
okay i though the sandbox was your sites intitial period of even getting listed into googles results page, i guess i was wrong about that, after some further reading i see its common to pop in and out of googles serps. I am just bummed yesterday they sent me over 100 uniques now my site has disappeared but on the brighter side my ctr is up to almost 3 percent today versus 1.86 yesterday after some tweaks.
http://www.newhouseflip.com/forum was indexed by day 2.. then on around day 4.. http://www.newhouseflip.com was indexed .. and the forum was gone... it was the first time my forum had ever hit index before my index.. kind of wonder if they don't intentionally list just one for awhile, and it wasn't a mistake that it was the forum rather than the index.. In my exp though, the term sandbox has to do with keywords though, not indexing.. so the issue above has not to do with sandboxing, aside from his disapearence on the SERP... but the idexed page no longer shows indexed... maybe there was a 'burp' on the day you n i first got indexed?
no, usually if you start your site with some good backlinks it was most likely be on the first page for around a month, at most. Then it will go wayyy down for a while, then come back up after a ocuple months
That happened to one of my sites. It was making a lot of money and then disappeared for several months. Google is now going to town on it again. It's not back where it was but this month so far 200+ search terms have gotten people to go to my site. The last several months only a handful of search terms got people to the site and Googlebot was nowhere to be found in my logs. You just have to sit back and take it. It's a good way to see how much staying power your site has. Google gives you gobs of traffic for a short time and then pulls back and sees how well you retain those visitors. If you can't retain visitors then you need to work on your site to keep them coming back. I wouldn't be surprised if Google compares the number of hits you get when you're ranked high to the number of hits you get when they come back after a bit and uses that information in ranking your site the second time around. If nobody goes to your site without Google's help then it's a good indication that your site sucks or it's a spam domain.
maaan... take it easy... there are many strange behavior of google and we don't have to discuss if someone's page has disappear from google for few days. If you are not in the search result around two weeks - you can start to worry (but still nothing sure!).
these things are usual in the early days of a site so dont worry about them. Give it about six months and in the meantime keep working on it.
