I think everyone should boycot adsense lol

Looking at Google's revenue in 2004 (that's the first year I found revenue for) they are making about 8,739,726$ a day. If we get a good amount of people to just boycott using adsense for a couple of days I think we can cause google to lose a few million dollars. I know it doesn't sound like much but if word got out that we were all going to boycott adsense a lot of stock holders would pull out too loosing google even more money. I know this will never happen but it sounds good in my mind for a couple of reasons.

    1. Google thinks that they only money they make is from the advertisers. This isn't 100% true if you think about it. The publishers pay per click but if there were no publishers then there wouldn't be any clicks thus not making google any money.

    2. Google seems to favor their advertisers and cope to their needs no matter what, but then they destroy their publishers. I think one of the reasons they do this is because they know there is no real alternative to adsense, I mean there is but you know what I mean.

Sorry about this random ranting about google I just feel a little ripped off doing over 38,000 clicks last month for a measly 760$. I'm also fed up with smart pricing. Our job as a publisher is to get the users to click on the ads we can't control what the user does once they click on them. Google would ban us if we wrote "If you click on the ads make sure to buy something so I don't get smart priced" on our website lol. Okay I'm done now the venting felt good....go ahead flame away or do as you please or you can post why you're mad at G too.

P.S. This isn't serious or anything like that just random thoughts that run though my head when I look at my Adsense Reports.
P.S.S Lol @ everyone who thinks I'm really being serious about this. I know it can't be done nor do I want it to be done. I just wish google would treat us (the advertisers) better. Also for the guy who left me negative rep saying "dude....get a grip.....I make 10k a month, are you going topay that to me while I boycott?" I'm going to call you out on this one and say that that 10k a month is bs lol.

A boycott will never take place but I think it would help us publishers out a lot if it did. Sure we would miss a few days of revenue but then maybe google will realize without us they wont make money. Then we can all send google an email that says something like "Sorry due to poor conversions all the publishes decided to Smart Price you" and see how they like it lol

The hand does feed me but it makes me go out kill the animal, skin it, cook it, cut it up and then it feeds me a little tiny piece lol. I want the whole animal not just the little piece they are giving me.

Then perhaps you need to eliminate the middleman in your endeavors.

you should thank google for adsense. if you don't like it try adbrite, clixor, or whatever you want. You want all the money from the advertisers ? Talk directly with them, but yes, i know, no-one will want to advertise directly on your website, or they will pay you only a small part from the money they give to google. Why ? Because advertising on google ( or other networks ) have advantages, traffic coming from many places, no invalid clicks, no automated clicks, etc. But all those require money, they review manually websites, great number of employers, they deal with everything, the advertisers only seelct keywords and send payment, and publisher only put the code on the page, everything else is google job, geo-targeting, showing relevant ads, taking care of cheaters, etc. Advertisers will agree to pay to google 1$ for a click, but i don't think someone will pay that much for rach visitor if they are advertise directly to you, more, they will want only cost per action or something like this, because they don't have many options to check if the visitors refereed by you are good or not.

i agree with an international day in which everyone should take their adsense off.
I wonder what would the google dtaff do when they will see the statistics of that day; I would love to see their face.

a boycot will not help, if they are loosing money, they will lower the amount paisd for each click to us, to cover damages, or if they are loosing money, they will close adsense, do you want this ?

This is impossible, but if you are unhappy with google adsense earnings, you should have a solid reason, like there is other network which pays more.

Ohh I'm in no way bashing google. I'm very thankful for adsense and every other advertising company. I just think google is getting to wrapped up in their money and they are loosing touch with their publishers.

Not quite, THEY serve the ads...otherwise all you have is your webpage. Not at all saying that a webpage without ads is bad, just that it's a pretty poor way to monetize a site if that's what you're after. :)

I absolutely agree with your bigrollerdave, without us publishers adsense would not be what it is today! In my head all I can see is google taking care of it's advertisers... but not us publishers.

Wish they would smarten up... but what can you do? Every other PPC out there SUCKS, at least google is decent that way (targetting, etc)

Many people depend on Google Adsense to make a living. If they took a few days off they may not be able to pay their bills. If Google lost $8mil it wouldnt be the end of the world for them. Thats like taking away $5 from Michael Jordan. In the end the only person that will get hurt is you. Google is offering a service, one of the best around, and they are taking their share for providing this service. You say Google is greedy... you want them to give you money 100% free.
