Ahh yes. It helps to have a number of e-mail addresses with varying steps of "privacy". I have about 10 email accounts, some I treat as almost disposable - I have no hesitation in posting these around the internet, while others I will only distribute to individual people via email. This makes it much easier to manage spam. The only problem is I sometimes grow fond of a "disposable" one and I'm stuck receiving semi-important emails along with lots of spam Also, use www.2prong.com for really, really disposable emails. It automatically copies a random email into your clipboard using Macromedia Flash (I'm not affiliated in any way, just like to plug 2prong because it's a really handy service). Edit: It doesn't surprise me he gets so much spam! Just take a look at the bottom of his article - his email address is in plain sight to harvesters in a MAILTO tag! Someone ought to explain it all to him...
I actually going through all of my email addresses tonight because of that article..... I am deleting any on any old sites which I do not need anymore...
Good thinking. Actually I was mulling over the spam issue last night. What would be really good is if one could save a customized spam list that could be of a standard format and loaded into any webmail account. I would like to domain-ban a bunch of websites that constantly send me junk, and it would be really useful to save out a file so I could copy those bans to any other email addresses I have... Anyone here work for Google?
