Mate competition is life... I like the book by Wallace Wattles - the Science of Being Rich.. he talks about moving away from the competitive plane to the *creative plane* .. If you want my advice.. get everything sorted and pick 24 people to be your JV affiliates, give them first mover option for 21 - 30 days as sole affiliates.. but make sure you do atleast some KW research and nail your process is down pat.. also by having 24 affiliates who all make money it'll bump ur gravity on CB.. If you're product is good then it should be no problem, who cares about the competition, look after your afiliates and they will stay with you and sell it if your product is deemed the most beneficial & highest ROI.. its pretty simple really.. the only way these other products can steal your market is by recruiting good affiliates..
when you find a gold mine...dig in... make as much money as possible before others take over.... imagine if you tried to hide the niche and someone else found out while you were still hiding it? that would be disastrous!
Competition is one thing, but you'll have people that will blatantly steal your idea. It's life. I think you really have to brand the product when you start and yourself (or your pen name) as the expert.
I can only give a qualified opinion if you send me details of your idea and all keyword research that you have already done. After you PM me all of that info, please do nothing for 4 to 6 weeks. I will be working on a detailed report for you during that time frame.
What i can suggest you first is to search on every google search for country based search, that happen to me to, and i was so excited, i was doing a search on "xxx xxxx" and see that there is only one competitor, then i checked in google.com.au for australia people, and i see that there is 10 pages of sponsored links You need to know what countries you are targeting, and make the search in that country engine, then, if you don't see nothing, and you see good results, don't hear to anyone, work on it and get your money out of it as fast as you can. Cheers.
Looks like you're building buzz before we've even heard of the product, that's true marketing . And it also looks like a niche you'd like to exploit single-handedly or atleast among people you trust not to loot you blind, and in that case you can suppress your gravity on your own, most people don't even bother surfing the 1-10 gravity products, although some of them are real winners (a product with a gravity of 3, including me makes 70% of my income) so if I were you, I'd build a select list of maybe 10-20 people that know what they're doing and won't stoop low enough to steal from you, atleast not without disgracing themselves forever amongst friends.
I have your answer right here! Keep it to yourself for long enough until you get about 30 or more sales a week. Be careful, if you keep it to yourself for too long someone will find a better way to market it than you and that person will take all of your sales. Your job is to stay one step ahead and try to earn more than them. The longer you can keep it to yourself the more you will earn, but as soon as somebody finds out and posts it on clickbank you will have more competition than you can handle and it will be hard to catch up to that person. Once you are getting that level of sales, put it on clickbank. At least if you are the first then you will gather the affiliates. Plus you have the most experience in the niche and you know what the people want best. The others are just copy cats and they may never be as good. In fact chances are their product is worthless, but people in a hungry niche will buy anything. Another idea: you can try to expand your operation to focus on selling something substantial. For example in the home energy niche, use the E-book as a way to gather customers then sell those people parts for the solar panel. With this strategy you have a more permanent business model. Most people stick with info products and that is a problem because info spreads so fast don't be surprised if you get 1000 other mimicked products.
