Ok I was watching TV and a commercial came on that gave me an idea on a niche. I said to my gf, remind me to look that up, I want to see if there are any products for something like that already out and how many people search it. I tested a few keywords that first came to mind, being both broad and targeted... 0 sponsored ads! Siiiick, now lets see how many searches a month roughly. Go check out google keyword tool, so I type in some keywords to find some more related ones. What do I find? close to 1 million searches for related keywords a month! and nobody, and I mean nobody advertising on this. The demand is there, the market imo would be desperate as hell. So if I can give them what they want right there at the drop of a click for $39.99, is this my gold mine!? I think it is! I have looked at every aspect and angle, there is nothing that I can think of that says this niche would not be a hot one. The only problem I see is........................................... people fucking copying! I can't believe how blatant some of it is. I see you guys post your launches on here like earth4energy and now look, there is a new copycat site that launches every god damn day. Thats so ridiculous. So my question to you guys, maybe some of you are doing it. Would you hide this niche for aslong as possible, and just advertised it yourself with paypal payment structure, and never let it see the light of clickbank.??? OR, is the earning potential so huge if you get a 300+ gravity on a $39.99 product with a 65% commission that it would be worth it to not have to worry about competition.??? What would you do?
I think its the harsh reality of IM mate, you might try to hide it but there are tools out affiliates use to find out what the competitors are doing. It sucks but thats life dude
You will always have to deal with competition.. Make your buck and move on.. before someone else comes across the same idea and rakes it all in.
don't tell details about the niche. Make your own product, and don't release details until you launch it, so you'll be the first with this kind of product
Thats business, your always going to have competition if its not within the first couple of months it will be within the first year. No one is going to stand around and let you have the full market share of a potentially profitable market, they would be stupid not to join in. What you have to do though, is use this advantage to your biggest benefits, i woudl suggest not telling anyone yet. Do some SEO rank first for the keywords, write articles and put them in ezine so you rank highly for them too, social media sites set up a group or something so you have a network, get backlinks, create a network create the product and sell yourself then a couple of months into it let your product go to affiliates too.
What you need to do is PM me the details so I can see if your wasting your time or not But seriously there is always going to be competition, it's just goes with the territory. I know what you mean about your product being copied here though. I like hanging round here so I can get the jump on good products that are being launched (as an affiliate) but in saying that I wouldn't announce a product that I was about to release here for fear of being copied instantly......
To be honest, I would still probably go through CB. Get some good branding. A good catchy domain.. Something that will last even when the competition comes in. Get everything 100% setup before listing it on clickbank. Even make a couple of duplicates yourself but do not release them until you main product has dominated the market. make sure your affiliates have everything they need before announcing the product. I see you earning big dollars over this year. Good luck mate, looks like your onto a winner! Swerd
OR, is the earning potential so huge if you get a 300+ gravity on a $39.99 product with a 65% commission that it would be worth it to not have to worry about competition.??? I would test it out small first, to see if it really sells. If it does, then hit it big time with clickbank. Do you need any help with it
As a CB affiliate and publisher the general rule is: If there is no paid ads people are not buying it. But that doesn't mean what you have discovered doesn't sell, it's just that basically everything has been thought of and developed. Just maybe you do have a goldmine... Don't put a lot of time developing something perfectly. What I mean is, Rapid, Fire, Aim (there is a book). Do your product, even if it is a little rough, get your site up and on CB. Don't make it available on the Marketplace yet. Promote it using PPC. Then TWEAK (graphics, product, PPC costs etc). Hope for at least a 2% conversion, 3% or more and you making money. If you can, name capture. Build a list and upsell. If it is working, promote it as an affiliate yourself, use many different CB ID's. This will help with gravity. Then list it on the marketplace. Aim to do this all in 1 month. It is a tight schedule, but you could be raking in the cash. Oh, offer affliates at least 70% (75% is better) and make sure they make at least $20+ per sale, otherwise it's not worth their time (adwords costs). Remember, every sale an affiliate makes hasn't cost you a cent, so why not give them maximum cut? There will always be people copying your stuff, always. But if you manage to get a good gravity (100+ on CB) you will be on your way to riches (you will get 'good' affiliates and not time wasters) and be able to afford to develop the product so it remains the best available. Look after your affiliates. Take a look at EasyClickMate to manage them and sell mutiple products through 1 ID (boosting your gravity on all your products). You can even develop your product into 2 seperate products or rebrand it. Sell them simultaneously. Thinks about it. If it sells milk it while you can. Oh, and if it DOES sell, let me know... Hope this helps. All the best, Mark
Thanks for the advice guys. Some of it I already had figured out, the rest I have added to the master plan. I want to try for a rushed product but decent site ready by the end of this week, just to gauge the market and see if I can make a couple sales on it. I would be extremely surpised if with my catchy domain name, and a well targeted sales pages that it doesn't sell. EXTREMELY SURPRISED... I have jumped into markets before where I didn't think of something obvious that ended up revealing how shitty the market actually is, and every aspect I can think of about this one just makes that much more pumped. So then it's set. I will make the product, make the page, and sell it hidden from clickbank for testing and optimizing before I do anything crazy. I will build my backlinks and do my SEO around the most profitable keywords. Then just maybe, one day post it on clickbank. I think doing a ***LAUNCH*** thread on here would be the worst idea. There are a lot of great affiliates to expose it to, but also alot of saavy, quick publishers that will snap it up. I think I could get a week tops without posting it on any forums before I had anyone even remotely think about copying. Oh well, the next 2-3 weeks will be very exciting... Thanks guys.
There is nothing that you can do about copycats. Just make sure when you launch your product, you come prepared. Do your own testing b4 showing off to the world. By now you can spot the affilates and vendors here who you can trust and ask for advice and even test your product. Competition is always there... Once you are first off block, lookout for others behind ready to steal. Check the success of swerd, take a look at his affilate area, its full of materials for his affiliates, you will want to do that too. Do not have pages saying...."coming soon with keywords and articles". Have all those bases covered and you are alrerady 90% ahead of most vendors. Good luck in your product....you will need it in this dog eat dog AM world.
Mate, I'm a little bit excited for you. Hope you do well Looks like you have a game plan worked out Swerd
Yes - Isn't it weird how people will jump into your niche if it's a money maker - Ironic eh? Anyways - if you're putting it into clickbank, it's almost always best to be the first one out of the gate with a product. It's very hard to tear affiliates away from a product that they're already making money on. Thankfully I was the first one out of the gate with the xbox 360 repair guide over a year ago. I've been on top ever since. I was almost dethroned a few times, but thankfully mine converts very well, and affiliates seem to come back. And actually your 360 product looks excellent - you may be dethroning me in the future. But I'm always on to new niches as well. Good luck with your new product, I hope you sell like hotcakes.
Reading this thread has taught me a lot, I don't have a product but I have some ideas for a few of them, thanks for all the advice on this post it will come in handy when I release my products to the world And the best of luck with your product
Regardless of whether you use clickbank it will still be copied eventually come what may thats the way it is unfortunately just keep an eye on what your competitors (when they come along) are doing at least you will have a head start on them and can develop a decent presence.
Maybe you can share the keywords with some reputable dp members if the partership could be useful for you. If you use this thread to promote the keyword, I think you can use the Buy and Trade category
PM me the niche and I'll let you know j/k The way I see it is promote it solo at first. Fine tweak your sales page. Lets hope it sells. Before you go to CB and offer in the marketplace have all the marketing material ready for affiliates LP,KW, banners, articles, etc...make it good though no generic stuff. Then do a launch thing. There will always be copycats out there can't do anything about it. But if you come out fast and strong you have a good chance of raking most of the profits, being the dominant product name in the market, and having the most affiliates promoting your product. Good luck!
