i sold my site, how do i transfer it all?

    I need to transfer my domain name to somebody with Godaddy and all the files for my website (its a website and forum). The forums have a database.

    How would I go about doing all of this. THanks

    For the domain, mine is hosting on another site not Godaddy. But the person im transferring it to has Godaddy. Dont they have to start the transfer?

    Also thanks Gnoc, but what about the database? how do i transfer that

    to transfer database's it is pretty easy. I was going to say i'd do it for $5 buks but i'll tell you step by step how to.. if you want to compensate me a buck or two I'd appreciate it. I'll tell you how to transfer the forum first..

    1. Copy the whole forum folder that is uploaded and put it in a zip or winrar archive.

    2. Go to PHPMYADMIN on your hosting and find the mysql database that is hooked up to the forum.

    3. EXPORT that WHOLE database, it will let you pick the file name and everything(Find the .sql it exported and import it in phpmyadmin to make sure it is the whole database)

    4. After you are sure you exported the database properly, You can put that in a zip or winrar archive.

    5. Send him the forum files, and the database. Have him extract the forum in his hosting to how it was in your hosting.

    6. Tell him how to import the database in PHPMYADMIN, if the domain is transfered everything should work exactly as it did before.

    To send the domain usually you unlock or release it then he requests it. Then they will send you an e-mail to verify it and all is done.

    Backup/export your database and send it to him (easiest way is to make a limited ftp account on your server and let him download it at his leisure).

    Its really a very quick and easy process.
