I signed up for the coop but think I used to much weight

A few months ago, I signed up for the coop network. My site then dropped in the serps. Once the site dropped (about 2 wks after joining) I removed the network. My site has still not bounced back. Only mydomain.com is ranking and this is even low, ranked at 150 now.

Is it possible that I put to much weight toward the site? If so, is there anything I can do?

How much weight should I put toward one site?

    Thanks for any help

If you read the white papers, you'll see how they prefer 'natural linking'. Depending on how much weight you had, it can indeed be too many links too fast. You'll have to grow links naturally, slowly. A couple more every day.

How is one supposed to grow links by 'a couple more every day' when dealing with co-op weight?

How much is too much weight? 100? 1000? 10000?
