I Screwed Up

I was trying to copy the URL of a suspected low paying AdSense ad to drop into the competitive filter and accidentally clicked on the damn thing. Should I be concerned about getting banned, or am I just paranoid from reading all the crazy stories here?

As an aside; Google does an excellent job of instilling fear into publishers hearts when I am worried about 1 accidental click.

    Cheers

Don't worry - I have had this happen by accident a few times in the past years with no bad effects. I only got $0 for the click so they must have known it was from me but not even a warning email or anything.

I guess the figure that's bound to happen occasionaly. Now if you did it many times a day, that might be something to worry about!

i think you may just want to drop them an email. They will be extremely understanding about it.

It's nothing to worry. I had clicked on my own ad over 10 times and not get banned.

"Checks your cardiogram" mhmm...relax ;) happened to me too long time ago, tho, when i contacted them to report the accidental click they replied to me with something like "Thank you for reporting, but we encourage our members not to report every time they make a accidental click since we understand this can happen blla blla blla"

Anyway to feel safe for the next time, don't copy urls...just watch and rewrite them ;)

You don't have to email them because they know you clicked on your ad and they automatically don't count it

Nothing to worry.Google should see the IP and pay you nil for those clicks.
Suppose i need to see that ad link what should i do. Its googles resposibility to pay nil for the clicks from that IP. Why should it ban.

Just because they know enough not to count the click, it still registers as a publisher clicking on his/her own ads which is a big no no; accident or not. I would email google just in case.

I don't think it is something to get worried about.

But if you are really upset over this, you can just send a simple e-mail.
