I screwed up my site. I feel so stupid.

I was trying to upgrade my site to xenforo. I accidentally deleted public_html permanently. I still have the database. It is a phpbb site that I need to import. Can I recreate public_html?

    Hello there,

Your host should be able to recreate the folder (they may also have a backup of it). You might be able to recreate it yourself by logging into your site via FTP or a file manager, but odds are you will not be able to apply the correct permissions (user and access) to the folder itself.

    Regards,
    Chris

It's not stupidity but lack of experience. It is from these kind of mistakes that we learn from and become more adept.

That is going to be a host issue but you can perhaps simply recreate it as it only holds forward facing stuff.

And don't sweat it. I learn everything the hard way lol..

That's a very good thing. If anything, it will only expand your skillet.

Hosts these days offer various backup solution included with their hosting. You may want to consider a hosting with backup for this type of situation in future. This will of course, save you a lot of headache when something gets accidentally deleted or infected with malware and you can easily restore a fresh version from backup.
