I saw some trick but I'm not sure is it a trick or not.

    Hi there,

I found some of directory site use some trick to not pass pr out of their outbound links, even premium (paid) links. I saw some trick like this.

in class "trick" they use css to add "nofollow" for their outbound links without shown on coding page. I'm not sure If this is a bad, site owners who paid for their site in premium at $XXX per year should gain some PR back to their site. Don't you think so?

    Regards,

    yeah its very dirty.

They are doing it so they dont pass on pagerank, but doing it sneaky. If they mentioned it when selling includes, then not a problem.

But my bet is not many of the site owners have worked it out.

There's no way to add the term nofollow to a link using a class, it must be in the metatags or in the actual link itself. I've actually done a small study on this and using classes or IDs to attempt to add the nofollow term do not work.

I would like to but I cannot give you specified because If they noticed and changed it back, I'll be a liar. I may give you a little, some of big flowers directory.

I read their "TOS" but they aren't stated about this in their selling. It's really unfair.

They might think they are getting away with something, but rel=nofollow won't work in CSS, so... :)

Pheww :D It's good that I heard rel="nofollow" doesn't work in CSS. However, I sent you a code I saw through PM to prevent someone abuse this (If it's work). If you read it, please reply here to let us know that's really not work.

Still... someone trying to be shady like that might not be someone you want to deal with.

someone dumb enough to name a class as 'trick' should be banned from the internet.

If they are indeed trying to pull a fast one, you should tell us the URI so that we can ridicule them.
