For those that remember (and those who never heard of it) GoLexa.com, It's a search tool I put together awhile back. It's main gimmick is that it provides links to webtools and page/site data for each result. I started out using the Google Soap API and Alexa thumbnails....thus the name GoLexa, but both were not very reliable. So now I use another feed and SnapShots. Issues: There is one main issue I have, if anyone knows how to strip slashes, I'd appreciate some help. When you use quotes around the keywords, the slashes appear. Suggestions: Please post any suggestions (good or bad) so I can make it as user friendly as possible. And if you have any tool suggestions post those also. Golexa.com Sample query for dogs Ed
Very nice. If it was coded in php, won't stripslashes() on the input vars (when they are being displayed in the search box) work?
Here's what I currently have: value="<?php echo htmlspecialchars($data['properties']['query']); ?>" How would I go about adding the stripslashes() to that? Thanks for the comments also! Ed
Thanks to all for the positive comments. I just added a "Contextual Search" component (beta), using Yahoo's YIQ technology. There's 2 ways to use it: To use it, do a search, then if there's anything you see in the title, description or url, (this includes words, phrases or the entire sentence) that you want to search for, just hi-lite it and click the YIQ button that appears. This will give you the top 3 results from Yahoo. If you want to do an entire contextual search of all the text in the title, description and url, just click on the YIQ link in the "Yahoo Site Explorer" row of tools. This will take you to the YIQ results page, showing you similiar pages to the result you just queried. Ed

Looks good, not too keen on the design itself, but loving the go to the first result straight away feature.
Cool I really like your site, really will be a good tool for some gathering some date for SEO campaigns. Also just one question, where are u fetching the search results from ?
