Just do your due diligence on your customer before you deal with them. A little investigative work and preliminary checks would do a lot of good. Also do not use Paypal to receive payment for non-physical items no matter how much your customer begs you to allow them to do so.

what about someone who sell hosting service or another non physical items ? one reason why they use paypal is the fact that paypal used and accepted widely with large number of customers.

Actually that is not true. Credit Cards are the widely accepted means of payment over the internet. The reason why you may think that paypal is the most accepted means of payment is the 'rumor' which is being spread around this forum.

However if you really sit back and take a look at paypal, you will be required to verify your account and in almost all situations (apart from the US, UK, Australia and Germany) you will need to use a credit card to verify your account and in the other countries, you would most likely need a credit card to raise your spending limits. So if you look at it, anyone who uses paypal legally would have a credit card.

Those people who usually can only pay via paypal are people who are most probably not even allowed to have a paypal account in the first place and those are the people who causes the most problems. Typically these would include people who come from non-supported countries, people who uses fake details, people who uses VCC (typically other people's accounts to claim to be theirs), people who want to engage in fraud, people who are underaged or people with bad credit histories. In short, people who are considered not acceptable and causes the biggest problems namely frauds on paypal.

Once you eliminate these group of people, you will eliminate some 90% of the issues with frauds.

All you said are true Eddy, but accepted credit card for payment is not completely safe. My friend using 2CO to accept CC payment and found many frauds each month.

If you sell services like hosting or digital material may be it's okay but if goods items, wow.... it's bad news but this is real world :)
