I am using paypal since 2006. And it always works fine for me. I liked it. However, in the past two weeks, I received 5 paypal investigations, and the total fund added up is about $400. And just now, from one of my thread here, I received two orders to the same item from the same buyer! Now I don't know how should I do with it. Can anyone help me? Following is the thread I am selling my products here: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=1038216 Paypal sent email to me as following when they notify me their investigations: One of the benefits of using PayPal is that we make every effort to alert you to potentially problematic transactions. Our goal is to help you make sound business decisions. A review of recent transactions indicates that you may have received an unauthorized payment. This means that the PayPal account holder may not have authorized the payment you received. We would like to learn more about this transaction. Please log in to your PayPal account and provide some information. We strongly advise that you not ship the item until our investigation is complete. If you have already shipped the item, please log in and let us know where you shipped it. We have placed a temporary hold on the funds until the investigation is complete.
Have you delivered the item to buyer ? If No then no need to delivery rightnow until case resolved AND if you already delivered the item to the buyer then provide shipping details etc. to paypal. DON.
I think there is some problem with the buyer (like stolen account / suspicious finds) Just not to ship the item and I think paypal will help you out.
My product is digital products, data and software, so I only deliver my products via email to buyers. The buyer who made two orders today is from following thread in Buy, Sell and Trade section: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=1038216 However, I haven't heared from him yet. I also attached the paypal payment detail screen in the above thread to find the buyer. But still no response.
So you don't know his/her DP user Id who paid you twice through that thread Is there any note in that particular transactions from buyer ?? DON.
WARNING!!!! - IT IS A SCAM EMAIL! Please beware of these emails, there are a few and some very similar, if you have logged into your account through following these types of emails, then please visit http://www.paypal.com and change your details back on tbe official sites. Delete these messages and be cautious of them in future. Before you open a link in an email, please hover over it and take a look at the status bar to see if it is the right site. (Be careful, some are tricky) and when you click on it, double check. ~ Mike
I second ms2134's opinion. It can very well be a set up to lure you in and make you click on a fictitious link whereby you might be disclosing your paypal details. Never ever directly click the link to your secured accounts. Instead take the trouble of opening your accounts in a fresh window yourself. Regards, RightMan
Thank you both for seconding my view, i have dealt with this matter for a client before and myself have access to the files that they sometimes use to do these tricks. Good Luck and i hope that all goes well, ~ Mike
Yes. I don't know his DP user id. However, I am sure he is refered by my another thread here. There isn't any note in that particular transactions from buyer. He hasn't contacted me until now. So I am afraid that this order will be the 6th of my paypal investigation in these two weeks. I also try to get contact with the buyer in the thread which he refered: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=1038216
Yes. My account had 5 disputes, however, now 3 disputes are finished, I lost my $$$ from 2 of these 3 closed disputes.
It was disputes or chargebacks? If its chargeback then chances are u will lose those remaining 3 also.
you need to login to your paypal account with the official link paypal.com then if you see a message there you cna contact them for help. but if there is no message about the investigation showing in your paypal account information then the email was a phishing scam and you need to do as they suggested and change your password and also report the email to paypal
My account got limited suddenly, and Whenever I click resolve and try to put my CC, it keeps telling me that I can't because the account is limited
d.arbib - If you can see these investigations in your Paypal account. 2 possible reasons: 1) Hacked Funds Sent 2) Credit Card Charge Back(Might be hacked CC) This is according to me Investigation takes place when the real owner of the paypal account emails/calls paypal saying that their account was hacked and they should freeze all the payments until he/she doesn't get the account back. If this purchase was legit, you will get the money.. If it wasn't .. Forget it
