OK I really need some help here. Im not sure if this is the right thread but here goes. I just started a new website www.surfchunks.com Its an area surf report for my town of melbourne fl. I started it about 2 1/2 weeks ago and have gotten positive responses. I currently get 100-150 hits a day but my site does seem like its growing so my question is what or how do I make the most money with this. What can I do. Who or where do I look for advertising on the web. I know theres 3 types of advertising but what interests me the most is the impressions. Who or how do I go about finding companies to advertise on my site and who pays the most for impressions. I am a complete newbie to making and building websites. Maybe impressions is not the way to go I dont know..I need help. I built my own through godaddys platform website tonight , but I did all the custom design work. Any help would most appreciated and would be greatful for some feed back on what I need to do. Thanks-Dave
There are many ways to monetize your site - adsense ads, banners for surfing related equipement, clothing etc.

It's a very nice website, though loads slow for me cause of heavy photos and my slow Internet. For ads: I am happy with Adsense and the adnetwork you find in my sig. You have to try, but don't expect to earn much from your site (or any other) right away cause ad networks are paying low these days, and you have to build and build and build content. Regards v.
Grow the site first, then worry about monetizing it.. then you can try adsense, adbrite, cpa offers, etc
Hey, I checked out the site and I'm going to play the devils advocate here for you. First I would highly recommend getting someone with some skill in there to edit the payout of the site, graphics the weather portion of the site could be used with a tiny php script that would automatically pull this information in for you, a tiny script for the sales section would be a nice feature all I'm saying is if you wanna turn this site into a money portal you have to make it attractive the only thing I see wrong here is that it's dedicated to your home town so someone like me for instance wouldn't pay to advertise on your site due to it's demograph. What I would do is suit up and visit some businesses in the area for sponsorship say 150/mth for a banner or interrupt something like that... just my two cents... affout com has some good sources for outsourcing stuff like...
you could also try yahoo publisher network but 150 hits a day is really low.try growing it first and then sign up to the publishers. you can also join some affiliate sites and pick merchants who have a generous commission rate.
best ways to try AdSense.....its best way to monetizing your website....100-150 hits per day for now....try to get more visiters......
thank you guys for all your replies. Solidsoul I understand what your telling me how do I get a script for the tide and weather page so it updates automatically and so it looks better. As far as demographs go its just a city report this is one of the biggest surfing towns on the east coast of US as quite of few profesional surfers come from my town. Im not looking to go global for now or anything maybe if I start getting alot of people i can also become a retail outlet. Thanks guys for all your imput
As other have said, it's best to first focus on getting a good base of traffic to your site. Concentrate your efforts there first, then worry about monetizing. It will come that much easier when you get there, and you won't be disappointed by your returns : )
