    This might help you. You will need to read this article and the database article it refers you to. Lot of images to guide you.

    If you have any questions post back in this thread.

    Thanks for that guide, its really helpfull.

    But there is one thing i need help with..

    "You need to add that information and maybe some other information to one or two files. The most common name is config.php or config.inc. Sometimes it will be named conn.php or connect.php. Some scripts will have a conn file that only provides for the database connection and all the other control variables are stored in the config file or in the database. If you have no instructions for your scripts and none of the above exist, just keep opening files until you find one that looks something like the fragment below:"

    I tried to DL two different script to just test with but cant find that file config/conn or anyone like that, i tried looking for a file looking like this when i open it:

    [IMG]

    Where i can change DB host, DB username, DB password, DB name ..
    It would take to long time to open all files, any ideas?

    Thanks

    But just one question..

    Lets say i changing this:

    Shall i leave the $? and do like this:

    or like this:

    (Without "$")..

    And the password shall it just be: "the password" or egrahorg_"the password"

    Thanks

    You normally just edit the config.php file for example where you see:

    $db_host = "localhost";
    $db_username = "";

    You would type your username inbetween the "" like this

    $db_username = "MY_DB_USERNAME";

    do this for each of them, password, database name etc etc

    Hope this helps

    Database name and username take the form of cpUsername_name

    Password is just the password you enter.

    More than likely you only need to edit 3 lines in your config.php file.

    Why don't you post the text from the config file and we will confirm it for you. The infomation in your post (#4 above) does not get modified at all.

    localhost is the norm on most cPanel hosting accounts. Some hosts (Godaddy half&half etc) use remote mysql servers.

    Who is your host?

    Check in your cPanel for MySQL. You will have to add a database and then edit the config.php file as stated above.

    I always had problems because myine was not 'localhost' . Maybe that will help.

    Can you post your config file so we can see excatly what youve got.

    You don't need to edit it in single files as it just grabs it from the config file. So once you change it in the config it works on every other page.

    If the config file youve got is the same as that screen print. Then just enter ur database details that you created in cpanel into that file inbetween the speech marks.
