I'm an american I live in the US. My websites are on a canadian webserver, and I have noticed that my websites are getting traffic from google.ca, and ranking well, but not as well on google.com. are the SERPS taking into effect that im hosted in canada
Google considers Web Hosting Location/IP address in their ranking algorithm, Google Canada is a smaller market than the main Google.com so you will get ranked on Google Canada pretty quickly with lesser competition, and by having your site hosted there helps too What a nonsense reply...
Ok thanks guys for an answer. I have a friend that I'm moving to there hosting today. There's no way that I want the upperhand on Google Canada at less then 1/10 the population of the us. And my affiliates being concerned about us only traffic. But if I ever put up a I love Canada or a hockey website I'm totally getting Canadian hosting.
