OK, so the rank is just in the UK results but www.iphone-3d.com is showing up 4th for the term "iphone" today. Its stuck on page 2 for the world wide results, more work to do I guess. The site has been redirected to another page but google cached it before this happened. The best bit is that the site cached in google uses a frameset so the page has no content at all. The rank is purely due to backlinks. 1st is the BBC, second the Observer, 3rd reghardware and 4th me. Be interesting to see what happens when the 301 gets found. Oh, and any sandbox worshipers take note, the site is 3 weeks old.
Dont count your chickens befor they hatch You can still be sandboxed. I'm busy today otherwise I'd check but how competitive is your keyword? I'd assume its a tough one but do u have any numbers?
iphone is probably one of the most written about keywords in the history of the web. My traffic has been huge over the last week thanks to other things (fark mainly). About 100 uniques per day for iphone though.
My guess is because the site had some google backlinks pointing from the main site which is for the most part vairly relevant to iphone this is the reason the site did not hit the sandbox. And I would be willing to bet that in a few days your main site will take over the rankings for iphone. Gotta love those 301's sometime. Either way, great job.
I don't think so, it's more about the number and quality of the links he got. Also none of the other results on the first 3 pages have iPhone in the domain.
When more people start to build content I am sure your site will fall in the rankings. Since the phone isn't in production many cell companys simply haven't built content for the iphone. Same thing happens during the holidays when you have more than expected competitors. Try selling red roses for valentines day and then try selling them in April. Totally different set of competitors. But good job and monitize the traffic while you can.
the difference is so big. Overture US - 20874 Overture UK - 862 But then it's a good keyword. I gave up when I saw 20874 earlier this month
