I was pleasently surprised to see my website ranked #1 in yahoo for two good keywords new web business and new internet business for a site that is just 2 months old. I am glad the way yahoo's algorithm works coz my site is not even in the first 10 pages of Google. What kind of traffic I get from these rankings I am yet to see....but its delightful...hardwork pays What's great is the fact is that I havent even applied to get into yahoo's directory.
Congratulations on your success and I'm not here to ruin on your parade but "Don't count your chickens before they hatch." If you have those rankings for a few solid weeks, then you can be happy because that more than likely means that your website is there to stay for a while. I've got high results in yahoo in the past, but the celebration was short lived due to the fact that for some reason I didn't maintain those positions long enough.
Cool it may pay to check the search volume of the keywords you are targeting just to make sure they are the best to target for your niche If you are selling anything on your site the long tail is the best place to start.
Congratulations vira! But to reiterate what others have said, make sure you keep up your back-linking campaigns and churn out as much great content as possible, while never stopping. Ranking will always go up and down, but doing the above suggestions will help ensure more stability over the long haul. To your success, Jeff P
Continue check your keywords search volume, index status, build some backlinks.. I hope after some interval you can get some good results for long time.
Yes unfortunately you won't get much traffic from those keywords. Here is the stats from Google's keyword tool: new internet business 260 monthly searches new web business 73 monthly searches Considering that Yahoo gets a fraction of the traffic that Google gets, you'll be lucky to get 5 visitors per day from those 2 keywords combined. Those keywords do get much higher numbers for broad match. So there is some decent traffic based around those keywords if you target related keywords. At least you are on the right track and have achieved some rankings. Just keep working hard until you have many more rankings and a good level of daily visitors. Good luck.
With Yahoo if you register a domain name with your target keywords you will rank #1... Google is where you want to earn rank and it is a constant battle or challenge.....continued success to you.
I think there is 1 yahoo user for every 200 people browsing the web based on my site analytics.. Maybe I should focus on yahoo search result too and may add some traffic but where should I start? I already have done adding my Url on yahoo a long time ago
Hey nice work! Now the real challenge will be to keep your foot on the throttle and not let up. Don't forget your goals!!
