I Quite Clickbank

So I've been at this for a couple years now.. and in the beginning it was great, I would make 5-10 sales a day no issues. Now I'll be lucky if I get a sale once or twice a week. And even recently it's been several weeks an no sales.

Now I understand the economy will slow things down.. but it's not just that.

I'll tell you what I promote, I promote warcraft guides, and I've done very well with them the past couple years, but now I can send 300-400 visits a day for weeks and still no sales.

Any other warcraft affiliates seeing a decline in sales?

I don't care anymore, I make much more money promoting my own products then clickbank products these days. I'm tired of having a run of great sales and then no sales for weeks. I could slap on adsense on sites I use to bring traffic and make at least a few bucks a day.. even so I could stop wasting money with PPC ads..

I'm 'this' close to giving up on clickbank.. I might as well just focus on the stuff that makes me money then waste time with CB..

    Opinions?

You seem to have made your decision already. You may decide to come back to clickbank later.

I know how you feel, sales are going badly some times. I do however think you should just quit with that niche, and not clickbank as a whole.

I agree. Isn't that niche not only extremely played out but over-crowded as well? There's only so far you can go with these WoW guides. Clickbank is a goldmine, no need to give up altogether.

Yeah, there are other products that you can try to make sales. Maybe the product you promoted before was popular years ago, now you can choose some others that are IN these days. It is just my suggestions. No need to quit. Just like you said you can make sales before, So I think you can make, too now.

The game has changed a lot since a few years ago. I can share similar experiences with you where I used to be making in $500+/day without much effort 3-5yrs ago with search and content, however those same strategies do not apply now. Imagine a surfer looking for warcraft guide now being hit with 10-12 ads promising same or similar products, that wasn't the case yrs ago. So think out of the box and pick unique niches - please don't quit. If you believe more and more folks use internet to get information and buy products, then wouldn't you believe your share should also get larger or at least remain the same (considering higher competition)

CB is not a waste of time, a lot of people still make a LOT of money with it, exactly, just change and choose other niches, WOW guides are not vital information, specially during recession ;)

I think what your suffering from is more competition, plus I think with tha niche wow players know that some of those ebooks contain info that is free and you cna download them from torrent sites too. Plus I do believe you are a victim of putting ur eggs in one basket for CB. Time to investigate some other niches my friend.

Well you are in a niche in decline as more people enter the niche, a bad formula on both sides. CB can still make you money, you just might need to hop ship a bit.

Good comments guys, it makes sense because I do notice a lot more competitors these days and I have been seeing the niche in decline for 6 or so months now. Maybe it's time to switch gears and start work on something else, hopefully a long lasting niche instead of something that will eventually die out.

I think what I'm going to do for a few months is to finish developing my own products, I have three, two which are 95% complete and one which is 100% and making good sales each day.

I think focusing on my own products for now will be a better idea, then trying to struggle getting sales out of warcraft guides.

It's the perfect storm for low sales right now.. it's summer, the niche is dying, we're in a recession, and there is a lot of competition. It makes sense now.

Thanks again for the comments guys, you helped a lot.

What a man has done a man can do. If you have done it earlier you can do it again.
    Never say die.
Well I made some point there.
    Keep yourself motivated.
    Blame it on Recession.

    ^ That.

Whether its CB, adsense, CPA's, or robbing banks, focus on whatever is working for you most.

If norb says rob banks, who are we to disagree :D

And kingbrent..all good things will have to come to an end, I'm sure the SEO-boosted sites are the ones making all the sales in the WOW niche now-as far as I've seen over the past 8-9 months anyway.

If you're fully into seasonal products, dry spells will occur and leave you jammed so even if timeless niches pay less, it's better to have them more as a fail-safe than anything else. Surf around a bit and you'll come across something you'll see potential in that others havent.

Norb -- :D I Would rob banks if it wasn't that risky nowadays. :)

I wouldn't recommend giving up, that's not a solution. I have been at the point of giving up several times and still never made on constant basis 5-6 sales a day. My average income from clickbank is just enough to satisfy a good living back where I live.

It's not that hard to make a sale on average per day it just needs constant work and dedication to what you're doing. My sales have actually increased but that is mainly because I have set up a few profitable campaigns over the last couple of weeks.

Outsourcing is the main key when you're looking to increase your earnings (over night hhehe).

For those doing article marketing and living of that should know that 10 - 15 articles are required daily if you want to make a living on clickbank.

Just more competition. More and more people try to make money online selling clickbank products.

    Wow guess what?

As a last ditch effort I swapped out affiliate ids with another one of my accounts last night.

And this morning I have two sales..

After a couple weeks of nothing, two sales out of the blue? Just by changing affiliate ids? Fishy stuff..

I was once taught to plan an exit point for each product that I sell online because just like offline it does have a lifecycle. I also treat each product as a project instead which have successfully kept me away from 'big time' frustration.

10-15 articles per product each day? Or 10-15 all around? I'm assuming per product. Probably a n00b question...

At least 5 good articles per day to guarantee a sale, the W4G and satellite tv guys in the glory days of ezine made atleast 1 sale per article...but that was then and now you'll only get banned.
