I put a new site online 18-dec-2010 and it still is not indexed, any ideas?

The site is boatso.com and I have been building links as a always do (I have over a 100 sites online and all were indexed in Google within one week), the site is indexed in lycos, altavista, Bing and Yahoo. it has been submitted to the ODP - Open Directory Project and has a few backlinks from PR4 and lower ranked website.

If anyone has a suggestion that might get this site indexed please PM me.

You can try to put your site on bookmarking sites like Digg, Stumble, etc. Or you can try to make blog comment on very high PR blogs and very high traffic.

No one on this forum came up with a solution. Here is how I got my site indexed on Google in 24 hours! The site boatso dot com was not being indexed for some unknown reason so I registered BoatsO.net and published the dot com site to the dot net domain and lo and behold, over night the site was indexed.

Okay. I can see that your .com site is still not indexed in Google. Do you see any errors in google webmaster tools? Some kind of crawling problem may result into this kind of behavior.

I have no idea why the dot com site was not indexed. The site data is identical and there was almost no offsite seo for either site. But the www.boatso.net was indexed over night

    This is what I see:-
Your search - site:boatso.net - did not match any documents.
    Suggestions:

    • Make sure all words are spelled correctly.
    • Try different keywords.
    • Try more general keywords

Alot of people mix up the terms "indexing" and "ranking". They are basically the same but indexing means google's spiders crawls your site so you show up in search engines, while when most people speak of ranking they mean at least in the first couple of pages.

Well to get indexed fast it would be wise to submit a lot of content, maybe 5 articles in one day, then ping them. I would personally use the WP plugin cbnet ping optimizer, then grab a ping list and copy and paste. the plugin will do the rest.

Next do a bit of submitting your articles to article directories "as is". You do not need to wast time editing content if it is your original work, except for buzzle.

Make a sitemap for your site. This also helps spiders crawl your content and a good plugin for that is Google XML.
Then submit your site to website directories and social bookmark and you should definitely be i the search engines rather fast.

    Pretty basic stuff.

We ARE discussing putting a site in Google's index here Hunter and most of the time that is "Pretty basic stuff", this was not one of them.

How is this not basic? I guess I over-delivered a bit but this stuff is very general and almost gets you indexed immediately. Simply pinging your site could do just as well in getting you indexed but if you want it done correctly the first time, this is as basic as it gets.

The only thing required is 5 articles, and you should have that minimum easily unless you are trying to index a completely empty site. You can skip submitting to article directories, but why not build backlinks to help you rank?

Even sending a few tweets can help as well.

You might have looked at the site or read the first post before helping out (NOT). There were more than enough backlinks to have indexed the site in Google but something else was blocking the domain name as the indexing of the dot net TLD proves.

Sorry about that, I only read the thread title and shot an idea lol.

But it seems you solved your own problem as well now looking through the posts.... hmm

Well at least now you know a simple method so it doesn't have to happen again :)

I was always of the impression that .com gets indexed much quicker than any of the other domain ! I suppose you live and learn. Thanks for sharing!

You can set up or buy several quality links from pr 4-5 pages. If after that in 1-2 days your site don't see in Google index - you must go panic =)

Seeing how our website returned January 21, 2011, and got indexed fast - I was curious, did you build links yet? Are you promoting the site on Twitter, or facebook? Are you linking to it on forums that you're apart of? On your profile, and in your signature?

As I see in backlinks all promotion was limited to publications in article directories, which clearly should have been enough to good indexation. Possibly domain is under some sanctions by Google.
