Due to the good economy here in Canada and $1CAD = $1USD I decided to purchase (my company name).US from sedo but the problem is that Im canadian and i don't have a US citizenship. Is this a problem? All i want to do is redirect xxxx.US to my xxxx.COM to gain SEO from that specific country.
You are wasting your time if that domain has no back links. If you have a .com you will have no problem ranking on google.com what exactly are you trying to achieve?
LOL stop smoking the herb dude. google.com is the US market. Have you visited google.us? It redirects to the .com
My provider accepted to transfer .US without a residence. Well your right... but that's the way i am... i collected almost all TLD for a particular site name. It it a good idea to have: (samesitename).com (samesitename).net (samesitename).org (samesitename).us (samesitename).ws (samesitename).tv (samesitename).eu (samesitename).cc (samesitename).co (samesitename).ca (samesitename).me All redirected to .com to gain trafic?
You can always register or buy .us domains. However, .us domains are RESERVED for US citizens, residents and businesses ONLY (Nexus requirements) I am American and I bought two premium .us domains from sellers who werent from the U.S I'd say...if spot inspection occurs, you may lose the domain!
Hmm your citizenship has no bearing on whether you can redirect. no issues there. If it was not allowed, the domain registrar that you bought from would have asked you for some identification first before allowing you to purchase the domain name.
My registrar let me register the domain, Also, Im just redirecting it to my .com so... if you type (my company name).US on your browser, it automatically switch back to (my company name).COM Just like wikipedia.com > wikipedia.org
It's not a question of redirection. Most registrars have a pre-registration checkbox (on whether or not you're US person) BEFORE the final checkout page...If you check that box during registration, the registrar WILL let you "buy" the domain...that's doesnt mean that you're in legal possession of the domain. Like I said, you aint the only one...so dont worry!... Just make sure you add private whois (for your own peace)
You should be fine I am a little surprised cuz some registrars dont allow private registration for .us domains. Cheers!
Actually my registrar is from the US and they have their address and stuff on my (company name).US whois.
