I have been fortunate for a couple of keywords where I already dominate. For example, I am #2 for Dance on MSN, but I have no shortage of visitors from google for that word and many others, but I had hoped in cases of sandboxed sites, that high rankings in MSN would make a difference, and they have not.
I think dvduval was hoping that for sandboxed sites, the traffic from msn would make up for the lack of traffic from G. Unfortunately this rarely seems to be teh case.
Your right.. I was doing good in google last month and i have a hard time getting with MSN and Yahoo.. After google updates.. thats the time Im doing good in the two..but i got slow in google..
seacrch.msm.com is not going to catch on to end users IMO. Is there another URL? Is the new search live on MSN sites in general?
Not true at all. I ranked excellent in MSN and Yahoo, for the first 6 months of one of my website's life. Now i am also ranking excellent on Google. First page, for 20mil - 250 mil results, with heavy competitors, on all three SE's.
Whats your secret becasue I own Google, but I can't get sites older sites especially to rank nearly as well in MSN or Yahoo. - Especially MSN.
Getting most of my few referrals (10-15 a day) from Google, a few from MSN (nothing from Yahoo). My site is a month old.
MSN is simple - good Title + well chosen anchor text links. In just three short months I've managed 11 top ten spots - four at #1 ...
MSN is easy. I have many top rankings in MSN and I am enjoying the little traffic while I wait to rank the same in Google.
To me MSN is by far the easiest to rank well in...good on-site SEO and anchor text...then lots of recip links. Definitely won't do you great in Google but MSN seems to like it that way still. Traffic volume obviously isn't as high in MSN, but then again the traffic can start showing up fairly soon in the sites infancy.
Your telling me. If all the other search engines got their act together, maybe we'd all start seeing the results that we wanted.
