I ran these ads on 2 of my forums and never had much success, if any. granted, my forums arent very active, but I think people are desensitized to google ads. just my $0.02. I may go back to them in the future. but for the most part, I am going with affiliate ads.
Well till the time your forums will not have traffic it won't make much money, it is also dependent on niche of your forums. You can try kontera ads on your forums since it will have lots of content.
forums dont do well on adsense, but yea there is an alternative link kontera, you should try to make another website with a good paying niche..
Not such a bad strategy. Also look at selling direct ads if the traffic is there. Although only losers give up
Adsense CTR on forums is always quite low, but high traffic forums can do very well. If you have a small member base then affiliate marketing may be the best idea for you. Join some incentivised CPA offers, free trials etc and post them up on your forum.
That's the attitude! As already suggested forum CTR is always generally low. That's why I dislike only installing a forum on a domain. Build up content on other parts of the site and you'll probably find you will get a better CTR. You can also promote the forum in the articles.
Yes I believe affiliate advertising will be the way to go. Forums educate people and it that doesn't go well with PPC ads like Google. I think switching to affiliate advertising will be a great move for now.
Affiliates are also suffering now in the present economic climate...people are buying less. As for Adsense, people are clicking less.
Forum is having a lowest click rate compare to blog and website generally. You might have a try on affiliate since Forum is good with using affiliate program. Then compare the result and make the right choice
