So a guy in another forum I know places a joke.. I found it funny so shared it with you guys.. I get two infractions for this for putting a joke on the forum? a clean one?? Jees... I've met some straight laced forum mods in my time but come on guys.. surely?
It's not possible to get two infractions for a single post. As far as why you may have gotten an infraction, any infraction you get, you also receive a corresponding email. In your case, it looks like your just copy/pasted it from somewhere else. If you told the joke on your own words, it wouldn't be plagiarism, but since you copy/pasted it from somewhere else, it is.
Thank you for your response. It was a friend who told me the joke, I am sure he wouldn't mind me repeating it.. It's not like it's some huge article stolen from online for the purposes of getting people to a website of mine.. it was a 4 liner joke... Seriously does that deserve such an infraction? I don't carry a gun.. I don't mug old ladies.... I just posted a joke that was, in my views, funny... Have you ever told a joke before to a friend that wasn't YOUR joke? Were you sued for telling it? I understand you gotta have rules, but this isn't very encouraging to appear as a friendly place for such punnishment... you not think?
You can tell a joke, just tell it in your own words. The only issue is that you copy/pasted the content (joke) from somewhere else. And yes... if I told a joke that a friend told me, I would tell it in my own words, I wouldn't pull out a recording of him telling it.
BS. I got an infraction for two posts and was banned until like December or January. I was banned for like 6 months over some BS Bubba Shawn. You do have to get new mods because some of them ARE ridiculous. I should be an admin by now. The people already voted me for mod months ago too in a thread I made. I am the shiznit. I also create cool threads like my peeing in a bottle one, do you remember that? That thread was HIGH TRAFFIC. I made this forum basically.
Not possible to be banned over 2 posts. The only way an infraction on an individual post can get you banned is if you already had a bunch of infractions and that just happened to be the one that put you over the ban threshold.
Nope. I do not lie. I got an infraction for same post and banned from it. It was BS. You also need to hire a support team. I think it's time to make me an admin. I tried emailing about the issue but was ignored until my ban lifted over 6 months later. >.>
tell better jokes, make the mods laugh and you are safe. tell corney jokes and the mods are saving the other members from bouts of depression when reading crappy jokes. so you get infractions lmao
