Google's cut depends if you advertised via "Search" or "Content". If you advertised via "Search"; then Google will take 100% of the earnings. If you advertised via "Content", then Google will probably take about 50% of that.
I learned my lesson thats for sure. I have redone my settings but my ads are now not showing any more. Initially I put in $100 max clicks when I meant to type $1.00 so it was just a typo. The keywords are very uncompetitive. Oh well lesson learned.
could be worse you could of paid $81 lmao Dude sorry to hear that, my friend did the same thing.. Thought he was setting his total spend but it was his max and 2 days later he had blown $400 on about 50 clicks and no converting ones .. some lucky little buggers would be laughing all the way to the bank
It's lucky I guess you never received a couple of hundred clicks! I suggest you should always set a tight daily budget until you get to know a niche. Once you set a daily budget, AdWords will display your ads as often as possible while staying within your daily budget but bear in mind that AdWords may deliver up to about 20% more ads than your daily budget setting. Also how quickly your ads are shown during a given day is determined by your ad delivery setting. Take care. Anthony
Its a search ad, not content, search content are usually more expensive. Its not that google take more cut, your seach ads is on google.com and so google take all 100 %.
Friend you have a learnt the lesson from this.I also experienced same as you but minimum 55$ for 4 clicks
Damm, thats happens alot with new guys goin for PPC. i hope ull get on lower CPC, and do better management. good luck mate
well something similiar happened to me, but it really wasn't my fault, I made the max cpc $0.20 but the adwords made it however $ 20 and after half an hour when I checked, I was already billed about $50... I contacted to Adwords but however they didn't accept a failure like this
you set a high cpc, and someone is really happy now specially for those sites or blogs that were your site has been advertise and clicked.
Adwords will tear you up at first when you are new to it, trial and error unfortunately is something you will have to go through to develop the art of ppc.
If you thinks that's high, a couple of years ago lawyers were paying $100+ per click for the keyword "mesothelioma". Why? Becuase if they found people with mesothelioma (a type of cancer caused by exposure to asbestos dust) they could sue employers for millions! I used to be working with Adsense back in the day and remember receiving a $100 click once or twice on for these keywords. Not too shabby! Although things have probably changed nowadays in Adsense and harder to get those sort of clicks?
