Yep. $110 for a tank of gas.

The painful details of that transaction are all right here in this forum post (the fact that I paid $110 for a tank of gas), but if you want to read my little story, click on the link to go to the full blog post.

In the UK you can't get a gallon of gas for less than $10 (our gallons are slightly bigger than yours mind).
The government have this brilliant idea of taxing people off the roads to cut pollution. What they fail to recognise is that people need their cars to get to work because public transport is so woefully inadequate.

I lived in Europe (Germany) for awhile, so I know that we've got some of the cheapest gas in the world. However, to most Americans, $100 or $110 for a tank of gas is a real shocker.

Not possible. The vehicle I have I have out of necessity (not out of want or desire). A moped won't hold all my kids. Nor does it help in the mountains with snow. Bus? Not an option.

Neither! It was a joke - today's Saturday, I'm not going to work!

Well they've failed at that as anybody who has to drive to work in London will tell you!

The traffic is horrendous... and ain't getting any better.

I know London well and you lot are spoilt down there! I know that traffic is still bad (despite Red Ken's best efforts) but you could always hop on the Tube, bus, DLR, ferry or whatever. Up here in the rural north most people have to travel to get to work but bus and rail services are almost non-existent.

I'm paying close to $70 to fill up my g35 coupe these days and I live near Toronto. I knew it was going to be expensive to fill up my car (needs 91 octane) but it's getting out of control now.

The hell? Only $2.86/gallon over there. Is that for 91? For 91 here in CA I pay about $3.8-3.90/gallon.
