An emerging site has the .info TLD while the .com was left unused. I saw the site, got impressed alot and immediately brought out the .com name. Now i am getting 20 typeins daily, even though the site is just started out. Aint i smart lol. What are your suggestions i do with these typeins ? This really isnt a thread about asking anything. Just sharing my 3 hours of experience.
I'm not selling it lol. once the actual site gets developed, i will get no less than 100+ visits a day i am hoping.
Don't sell it. http://www.fka200.com/domain-parking/ Park the sucker. Read my suggestions on the site. If you need help in monetizing, feel free to PM me.
is the .info name trademarked or the developer of .info a big business unit? if the answer of any of the previous question is yes, you could get in trouble for cybersquatting. Be careful.
I don't think 20 type-ins is much at all and I certainly wouldn't be making plans just because of these stats. But it could still do well with some promotion and development, I hope it goes well!
Depending on what the domain is and if there are relevant affiliates for it, it could real well, considering the low registration fee.
Park the domain & convert those type-ins into revenue. If you want a recommended parking company, I highly recommend Parking Panel, they've been the best for me so far. If you're interested & need a referral, PM me.
I agree that 20 unique type-ins a day is not much, and personally I do not think you will make much at parking. Consider developing a small website at first, monetize it and submit it to search engines and directories to increase the traffic. You will make a larger income from doing this.
I dont believe 20 type-ins is a lot either.. Yet you also have to think, was this registered before? or was a similar domain registered before? if so then try to spend a little time finding out, because if you do find it, base teh site's content off of that
Good luck with it. If someone is stupid enough to only register the .info and leave a .com up for grabs thats their fault. James
I make about $13 a year from a domain that has a little under 20 type-ins a day, with a mini-site and ads. Substract my $7 registration fee and I make around $6 a year on that domain. Unless you develop it, I wouldn't get too excited.
I'll bet that the owners of the .info domain aren't a big business, for the simple reason that if they are dumb enough to have built any sort of sizeable business on a .info domain while the .com equivalent sat unclaimed, then it's unlikely they are smart enough to have built much of a business at all! If they were at all successful and had considered copyrights and trademarks the first thing their lawyers would have done is secure any similar domains that were available, and yours would have been the first one they grabbed. Despite what everyone else seems to think 20 type-ins a day is a darn good start to a significant flow of traffic. Certainly something that you could build on with a little marketing nous. I'll bet many of the previous posters thumbing their noses at your 600 free visitors a month have sites of their own that get far less traffic despite their best efforts. I know I have a few!
