I opened a dispute for the wrong person...

i bought two items 37 days ago from 2 sellers, each about the same price. i never received one of the items, and the seller did not answer my emails about the item. last week i opened a dispute with Paypal, and the seller apologised and asked me to reconfirm my shipping address so that they can ship another one to me.

i thanked them but waited till i received the item before i close the dispute. today when i check the mailbox, i saw that the item that was delivered was the second copy of the item that i received earlier. puzzled, and slightly horrified, i logged into paypal and compared the transaction details with ebay.

yes, i opened a dispute with the wrong seller.

i felt so bad because they had to ship another one to me, at their cost when it wasn't even their fault in the first place. i just posted a message saying "thanks for the item, sorry i had to open the dispute", and closed it in paypal.

Why didn't they tell me, in the dispute console, that i have left them a positive feedback saying "item received in perfect condition"? if they had mentioned that, i would have realized that it was the wrong seller.

and i haven't heard from the other seller till now.

Oh god, I would feel so bad if i did that.

Maybe you should send the item back to them? Would be a nice thing to do :)

It doesn't matter the price of the item, I believe he should send back the Item.
