Hi there - I checked my site on google by searching site:www.myurl.com -

Only my homepage showed up - I did the same thing for a friend of mine and he has 280 pages showing up -

I'm in some friendly competition with him so don't want to ask him how he does it - can anyone help me out?

    - is it a sitemap?
    - is he pinging google with each page?

    Does it even matter?

Reps for whoever can solve this for me - thanks

We need your site URL to analyze it :) Did you try Google webmaster tool? Submit your site over there and also don't forget to submit your site map there

It takes time and efforts to have all your websites page to be indexed. You must work more on your website and have it more SEO friendly.

Another way to get other pages to be indexed is to point links to those pages! ;)

You could try submitting an XML sitemap in Webmaster Tools. This shows google what pages to crawl.

    To get indexed:
    - Submit XML sitemap
    - Register at google.com/webmaster and claim your site
    - Pages or posts that not indexed, start submit to digg.com and most likely it will be indexed

The good step is submitting your XML sitemap to social bookmarking sites, for example to del.icio.us.:)

    Hello K,

Bala here. It depends on the script you using and the sitemap of course.

Let us know your website url first. Then I believe you will get more exact suggestion instead of blind/common suggestions.

I have few suggestions for you.
    1. make sure to validate your website with validator.w3.org
    2. Create an XML sitemap of your website
    3. Add your site to google webmasters
    4. Submit your sitemap of website to google through webmasters tool

I hope it will help you get all your pages indexed
Also note that google sometimes doesn't index the page because of duplicate content, so you should have unique content.

XML sitemap for sure will solve your problem!
Submit it in Google webmaster but be sure it contains all your pages and the sitemap does not contain broken links.

If you haven't already include a human sitemap on the website and create an xml sitemap on your server then submit it to each of the 3 SE's webmaster tools. Also, make sure your homepage links to every other site on your site (if possible).

Your links should appear twice on the page, at the top nav and at the bottom.

If you are still having trouble them pm me, I'll get your site indexed quickly. Then you can shut your friend up.

You guys are forgetting that if his Website is not SEO friendly, the crawlers won't be able to get passed his home page.

Make sure your links are able to be crawled by the search bots.

Develop your off-page optimization with plenty of links going to those other pages that are not indexed. Have articles in a reputable article directory linking to those pages. They should get indexed very quickly.

See below if you want a step-by-step. :)

Here are some of the methods that help your site get listed on Google and other search engines:

    1. SE submissions - submit only once
    2. Create a sitemap - it helps your sub-pages get index.
    3. Ping your site
    4. Get quality of back links - it you want your sub-pages get index, then deep linking helps.
