I picked up bodyscars.com the other day and thought I could come up with a way to monetize it. Directory for corrective plastic surgeons, or estore with scar fading products, etc.

Do you guys think it has any potential and which direction do you think would be the best.

Thanks for taking the time to read and respond.

I believe it would be a lot easier to monetize products than services. So a blog for scar fading products with amazon affiliate links sounds good to me.

That said, I think it would be prudent the next time to do some research on the market, keywords and monetizability before buying a domain. That's at least the way I would go about it :)

Everything has potential if done right.Take a look at the internet today. There are websites about anything you could possibly imagine.I don't see why this shouldn't work.
Set up a beautiful website...get some Seo done, get some social traffic, and then contact all the plastic surgeons in your area and propose them ad space and a small review on your website.Charge monthly or by year.
You won't believe how many of them will pay you without any questions about the traffic.
Tell them you only have 10 spots. When you get the money for those 10 make another website similar and get another 10 spots and so on.Trust me.It will work if done right.

    Cheers!

I was also going to state that regardless of which route you go I would add a blog to it. Even if you do the directory, add a blog so that you can constantly add content to give the site an even bigger boost.

Directories are a good idea, as long as you make sure you have plenty of high quality content - not just links.

I think I am going to try the blog/directory approach. I really want to use this site as a learning case and go step by step (maybe document along the way for future reference guide to use for other sites, etc.)with tips from this site. So here we go...my first question, what to call the site. Do I simply title it BodyScars.com ...that sounds a bit rough....any thoughts?

Also, if anyone is so inclined, what steps would you take in gettting a site up and running. Remember, I am going to document and publish results.

    Thanks, guys.

Huh, I wonder what is it going to talk about with a domain name like that?
    Past accidents experiences?
