I need your opinion about my site.

I am receiving some traffic to this site, but conversions are lower than i would like. Any advise?

The site has great content but I think you should get a professional logo for it.

 

I added a logo. Is there anything else I can do to improve the site?

 

On a small resolution, there's nowhere for the visitors to click (and for you to get a conversion) above the fold. The logo just looks like you dumped it there and it would now look better without it. Get a decent one professionally made, then get rid of the 'Web Hosting Reviews' text (or, as I can tell you're mega bothered about SEO, move it somewhere and make it smaller). Make sure you use ALT text on the logo (just write Web Hosting Reviews rather than the whole domain).

Get rid of the blue gradient bar at the top of the page - it's pointless and taking up loads of space. Just by doing that and moving everything up, there'd be a link in view straight away.

I just had another look and the new centered logo looks much better. If you can get rid of the blue gradient bar at the top to move everything up even more, that should help.

 

You need to add more stuff (i think)

 

I do not want to add too much stuff and make the site busy in any way. I want it to be an easy read.

As far as the blue bar on top...I am going to need a few more opinions on if I should remove it or not.

I would remove the blue bar at the top. It will help you move the content closer to the top of the page. As it is, you have to scroll too far to figure out what the site is all about. I'm assuming you're using a high-res monitor so you may want to test it at other resolutions.

It would also be helpful if you included how long you tested each hosting service and how many sites you used. More detailed information would be great as well. For example, you mention that BlueHost doesn't have as many features as some of the other sites. What features are missing and how important are they? This would be helpful answers to someone trying to make a decision on which host to choose.

Finally, and this is something we can all be better at, proofread the content. You have some spelling and grammatical mistakes. I make them all the time too but fixing them can make a big difference.

 

The blue bar and the banner below make the content appear to be "dangling". I'd remove both. Also when reading reviews, I expect a bit more text. What you currently offer rather counts as a conclusion, but not a review. Also you do not offer any criticism, so the whole site appears to be nothing but advertisement. If I am searching for a supplier for a product, I want to know where he messes up.

 

I checked the back links of your site by Alta Vista. Maybe you should increase the number of your back links and your traffic ranking will be better.

 

I think the visitor has to read to much to get to the point. Remember the short attention spans people have today. Also, when I first entered your site I wasn't sure what you were about and later wondered if you were trying to appear to be a disinterested reviewer that is really a sales person for these web hosting concerns. That can turn some people off.
