I've already set some prices but am just curious at whether they need altering at all...

I wouldn't consider your directory a true PR5. It may show it in the DCs, but it's obvious you just acquired the domain, and added the directory to it.

I will predict that your PR will drop down to a 2 or 3 by the next Google update.

5 sounds about right, if you do 3 bucks a month youll get a better response and sell more though

    Ok, thanks for your comments.

I've made the text links $3.00 per month and banner $5. I'll keep it like this all the time because of the possibility of PR drop.

And hopefully the PR won't change dramatically because i'm submitting to high PR directories and getting some backlinks e.t.c... (but are not showing yet, as was done couple of days ago)

Do you think this is fair?....

People are willing to pay more if the PR is actually earned. ;)

expired domains have been in a way abused by selling links right off without having any backlink, so people these days often don't pay for a link on it. But once you pass the first update and gain PR back, I think you can start charging decent prices.

I don't mind charging cheap prices. I'm only doing the sponsered so I can pay to get more backlinks and to pay for the hosting, submission to directory is free. So I make no profit from this. It's a hobbie, I want to keep building it up, get backlinks, PR and just keep growing :)

We would adopt a different route to market, that is get the Directory established with some content from listings, get started on a continuous back link building program etc etc

Then when the Directory is known and 'is going to stick around' then and only then would we look to bring in sponsors etc

It may sound like thats a 'tough call' but if you get sponsors right now, they will want to come in at a discounted value

As the posts so far have indicated
