I personally think that your rates are too high, especially when there are many writers on here offering far lower rates, more than half your rates. As for your need for work. I'll give you some advice: You might be offering hunting down the work instead of asking for it. There's many threads on here with people asking the XYZ articles to be written, so just post your rates etc in there.
Thanks crutchy. I've been doing this for three years and know how to run my business very well. Thanks for your input though. As far as you posting to this and saying that my rates are too high, I'm pretty sure that goes against the DP terms of service. Negative comments are no longer allowed, and posting just to say that someone is offering too little for articles or charging too much is also not allowed. I believe the only comments that are to be in the reply box are honest questions that everyone will be able to benefit from. And as I have said, I realize how DP works, I've been a member for a very long time. I also notice that I have a much higher iTrader than you do. So perhaps I know something that you don't after all.
I didn't mean it a malicious way. And I had noticed that you have been a writer for 3 years so you must be a High Quality writer, I just felt that with your rates that I would WARN you. It wasn't a negative comment about you, it was more of a warning to say people will shop around. They'll see your rate of $0.015, and then see someone else's rater of $0.008 and they instinctively go for the lower price. Sorry if I offended you.
Hi, Personally I recon and I know that a lot of professional freelance writers will know that 0.015 per word is in fact way to low! If you can write well, know how to research your articles and record compelling content then there is no reason why you couldn´t charge at least 5c a word. "Instinctively" - people will consider quality over price any day - so think before you speak Crutchy. This is not the place to put down other writer´s prices and I hope a moderator sees this. Nitrogen, my rates for reviews are the same as my rates for articles. $0.015/word. For regular, ongoing work (such as a blog), or for bulk orders of 30 articles or more, I offer a discount rate of $0.01/word. Because this thread has done wonders for my advertising purposes, that discount offer will soon be no longer offered, except to my clients who I have already arrangements with.
