If your serious start with VPS first. Then when traffic explodes go for a dedicated server. For VPS I would recommend knownhost
what about godaddy un;imited plan they dont mentioned that they are not allowed file hosting web sites

i contact godaddy.com yesterday about if they allow file sharing service they told me Thank you for contacting online support. Upon reviewing rapidshare.com it appears as though you would be able to host this type of website on our web hosting platform. It is not possible to to convert a web hosting plan to a virtual dedicated server so it would need to be manually migrated.
