I need to sell a reasonably popular proxy site (76,000 visits a month)

The site is www.EdgeOfSpace.INFO

This month ( 2007-06-01 - 2007-06-13 ) I've made $19 so far.

$19 * 2 = ~$40 a month.

$40 * 3 = $120 minimum bid

Google Analytics says I got 4,021 visits yesterday on this site.

Domain is on GoDaddy. I only accept PayPal.

I do not promote or advertise this site and have not done so for a month or more. It has survived the end of school for the summer and most of the traffic comes from

-United Kingdom
-United States
-Australia

No Iraq or Chinese traffic.

You could add banners to the front page and potentially make a lot more money.

Somehow this site is very appealing, more so than most of my other sites. I don't know if it's the name or something, but a lot of people have been going to it when i've hardly advertised it at all.

 

Why dont you put adsense on the front page.

I mean, everyone knows that this is the mainstream for income for proxy-sites.

In addition, how exacly do you monetize the site, cuz its kinda hard for me to figure. Is this on pop-unders?

I've never quite figured out how to get CTR on the front page on any of my sites, so most of the time I just set up pop-unders. You're right, I do use pop-unders on the proxied pages, but most of the money comes from banners.

Whenever someone tries to tell me that "he never got interested in making more money", I smell something fishy. Isn't this the main point why we are all doing this?

Imo, it is irrational not to put adsense, which will cost you 2 minutes of your time, and will bring you at least 4 times the income which you currently have.

If you have 4k uniques per day, with an average cpm of $4 you could make at least $16 per day.

The thing is, almost none of the CPM networks accept proxies . I've been looking for one for a long time, but my application got rejected everywhere I tried. So that's probably the reason he's not displaying any CPM ads.

 

well I never said I wasn't interested in making more money, I said that I can't figure out how to get the CPM up. Placement, coloring, etc. will cost me more than 2 minutes of my time. Look in the adsense forums... it's driving people insane! They spend hours and hours configuring their adsense to have it just right.

Well I only started this site to prove that my advertising worked. I doubt Adsense would bring in that much money honestly. I've gone to the adsense forum on here and everyone complains that they hardly ever get clicks and that when they do they are really low.

I do have adsense on a couple of my sites and looking at my stats they average 41 cents a click... but I hardly get any clicks! So I go for CPM and pop-ups where revenue is actually guaranteed.

Just place any ad (preferably a rectangle) on the center of your index page and you will get at least $2 cpm. At least! Which makes 4x$2 =$8 per day.

The dips are weekends for anyone who was wondering.

 

So you did do the newsletter/myspace advertising.... reading your first post, I thought you didn't. How often do you send out your link on your newsletter and myspace bulletins?

Any ad? You mean any Adsense ad? I don't make that much at all, even with 3000 Adsense impressions per day.... Adsense hardly displays CPM ads, so there's no guarantee that every visit would count for CPM.
