I just created a new site and need to start promoting, improving, and, above all, raising the pr. Any suggestions?
Once I get a high enogh pr, I plan to start charging for links. What do you think appropriate prices are for various pr levels?
My Suggestion would be to submit articles at high PR rated Sites - This will get you a fast PR - Which in turn will get your site picked up by Search Engines - I hope this helps - Best of Luck!
I would suggest spending a month or so putting up sample problems and solutions. Show people who come to your site that you know what you're talking about and that you can do the work. Then look at page rank, SEO, traffic etc. With what you have there now people will not be interested in what you're selling/giving away.
You may want to try Text-Link-Ads.com to sell your links with. You may like it or you may not. I am selling a few links on it and it just gives me a little extra money.
I agree. The best thing to do is to work on getting a good PR first. PR is not something that is easy to get unless you either get very lot of good quality links pointing to your site or you buy a few good quality high PR links that point to your site. But the first thing you should aim at is getting the PR before you start thinking about charging for links. I don't blame you though as it is very good to plan well ahead. I plan well ahead into the future for my business.
Buy some directory submissions and links on related sites. You can also promote your site offline to get some traffic.
If you do purchase links of a directory then be careful of what you purchase. With some directories you may find that you will receive your link on a PR 4 page, which costs around $49 and you will end up getting hardly any if not any traffic from it. There are many good ways of getting your site on a PR 4, which can be done by exchanging links plus other methods.
The most inexpensive way is to create a couple of good landing SITES with zero competetion for the targeted keyword. In my experience you can groom an ok PR site (3-4) in about three months. Good Luck!
#1. PR is a simple function of links. That is, each and every link you have pointing to your site gives you a little bit of PR (unless it's got a rel=nofollow) #2. the more links on the pages that link to you, the LESS PR they pass on to you. This mean that it's sometimes better to have lower PR links on uncluttered pages than high PR links with 100 other links to share it with. #3. It is unnatural for a new/PR0 site to have several high PR links and only a limited amount of low PR links. Don't rush out to buy HIGH PR links. You need to be realistic. You're better off buying a LOT of low PR links and slowly adding high PR links as you go (and as you still keep adding low PR links) to make this balance look natural and avoid any nasty filters that would make your expensive link campaigns useless. #4. Free SEO friendly directories are a great way to get long term links for free. Sometimes you can even get onto a decent PR page. #5. PR is not that important. #6. Selling links is not that profitable unless you've got PR6+ or can sell MANY MANY links, which is easier said than done. #7. If you want to buy/exchange links then it's worth taking a look in the buy/sell area of this forum. There are a lot of GREAT deals to be had. This is also where you can sell your own links later. #8. Join the co-op or link-vault to help boost traffic to your site, and sometimes PR. That's a good action list to start with. Once you go through these steps there is no reason why you shouldn't have at least a PR4 or PR5 come the next update. Good Luck! Pete
You are right about getting quite a few high PR links quickly. If that is done then it may look a little fishy to Google. If a site grows natually then it will have alot of 0 PR's, 1 PR's, 2 PR's, 3 PR's, etc. It will have more of these than PR's 4, PR's 5, etc.
Popular way to increase the pr of site is to build as many links of site you can make,do directory submissions, buy high quality links of good pr.
Search the internet for the 10.s of thousands of directoies, do several a day and never stop! Soon or after a long while you will statt to see your PR increase.
Another good way of possibly increasing your sites PR is to buy traffic on sites that can give you alot of good traffic. The more traffic your sites get the more branding your site is likely to get and then people are more likely to start automatically linking to your site theirselfs without you having to link back to them.
it is not good start talking about selling links at this stage..... you must concentrate on increasin your PR. .... its not that easy ...well u will need about a few months of consistent hardwork to get a good PR... and a good PR for a webmaster means "Money in the Bank" ...... thats it best of luck regards Aditya
