I have an image hosting site, pulling in decent traffic (Mostly US, Mexico, Australia, etc). I need to monetize this site. I can get the traffic for about .01 per click. Not that I want to do arbitage, but I can also install a PHP script to watermark my images. I've got one user pulling 30 Gigs per day. There is no doubt I can "turn this on", but want to be sure I can monetize. The link is in my signature. I put Google search box on the site, not sure if thats really ok either? Any input on that? I tried 7Search, did ok with that, but I don't want to make 3 - 5 cents per day either. Sure, I know this site isn't going to make me rich, but I want to complete my 50 sites making $50 per month by the time I retire. (I'm 43). I guess I just want to make $25 - $50 per month on the site (after hosting, promotion, etc), and have no doubt about turning up the traffic. I just dont want to get into a position where I'm giving out gobs of bandwidth, and barely paying for domain name, hosting, etc. It appears image sites are very easy to generate ttraffic, but hard to make a dime on... An ideas??? Other than really getting oogles of users, and traffic, than putting up a 404 page with a redirect to something, than deleting all the photos... That was suggested once... Un-scrupulos!!!
What is your direct link, as the link in your signature goes to the join up page. You probably have to get your own site to monetize via membership or pay as you go via paypal. How many gigs have you got up?
What a great layout! I thought you were a subscriber to the site... about monetizing, I guess you've considered membership and download charges. Your site looks good enough for that. But than you have to organise payouts. What about a direct appeal for donations to Paypal, or whatever? It may accrue some cash. I think the simplest is to affilate with stuff people would like , photo album software, ecard software, just some low priced apps. or if you create categories and name them like beaches, you could open up to adwords. Thanks Sumi.. I really want to avoid a "neccessary" sign-up to avoid discouraging users... The layout was done by the person I bought the site from here on DP. I goal would be to put click-ads or an affilliate link to generate a few bucks monthly. (Pay for domain name, hosting) and, maybe a little steady monthly revenue.
