Well, writing articles might be your best bet for immediate results, but if you're looking to sustain that income and make your life a little easier then you may want to take a different direction.

I know I'm late, but next time go knocking on doors (e.g., PM-ing people on the forum) and "inform" people of your services. It has been known to work for some. People PM me occasionally on another forum and the only problem is that they do they same things I do. I don't guess it's a bad tactic if you don't do it often.

I don't know if somebody else mentioned Elance. It is a site where you can find some jobs. They usually don't pay a lot but you can have a small income.
