Traffic exchange networks (ILoveHits,Webmasterquest,HitSafari,Clickvoyager,TrafficG,TrafficRoundup and many others) are good source for medium-quality traffic on your site.
Did anybody tried Google Coop.? I heard it was good, but I don't really know how effective it is when generating traffic.
I didn't but would also be intressted to know if and how it works. Looking at it, it places you in the golden triangle of traffic so in theory you could get top ranking for a subject. It seems worth the study but if someone could tell us more please do.
Try a small AdWords campaign or BidVertiser or Yahoo, etc. Fund it for X dollars and you'll get some decent traffic over time.
It works very well, though there is a fairly steep learning curve. Once you get how it's works, it's actual quite easy.
Buy stuff from ad services like Adbrite and Text-link-ads b/c you can choose who you wana advertise to.
Pay for Adbrite/Textlink/Adwords for short-term exposure. To build long lasting perm links, setup link building campaign as per Edynas's suggestion. But at the end of the day, you must still carve out your own niche where people will re-visit over and over again, like this digitalpoint.
Linkmetro....tell me why because I hear here and also seen that atleast the free service has quite some unrelated and spammy kind of sites sending out alot of requests.
I read the same thing on a previous post. I hope its not true becuase its a great tool for building possible link exchanges. Would love an experts insight on this.
Are your sites the ones listed in your sig? I've just started to try to promote mine as well. Commenting on some top blog sites seem to help, but maybe also if you trade links with exclusive partners or affiliates and build your own mini webring. Just a thought. ~Jeff
Uve got some great suggestions here, but I just wanted to add that your site needs to appeal to people to make them come back and more importantly spread the site through word of mouth. You know how effective u were at promoting your site by showing it to friends at school who then passed it on to their friends. Point is, the site needs to get people to want to pass it on to their friends. If your site just isnt attarctive in terms of content, then you will continue chasing traffic. Make your site on a niche topic, do something unique and revolutionary in terms of content or service and people will flok to your site. Why spend your time promoting a site that just isnt special?
This thread is full of useful information. I've definitely increased my traffic a lot so far, not as much as I'm looking for, but still 4x higher. In August, I received 3585 page views. In September (started working on it late Sept), I received 19810 page views. This month, I'm shooting for 60k! Wish me luck! Nick
good stuff, i'm already doing almost everything you mentioned, cept for one or two. am looking forward to testing them out. cheers!
take a look at Darren Rowse's (ProBlogger.net)'s list of 20 linkbaiting techniques: http://www.problogger.net/archives/2006/09/21/20-linkbaiting-techniqes/
Anybody could list the cons of free hosted blogs in order to make incomes from adsense, yahoo publisher or msn. Thanks
