Hi. I have seen comments in forums that I have an ugly site. (at least it stands out!). I'm not going to drastically change it. But as screens have gotten wider in the last 2 years, that fact that the tables in the site are aligned to the left looks worse and worse. Also, the code is a mess. (I use nvu WYSIWUG editor, and it gets messier each revision...) If one "template" page (the index) is cleaned up, I can use that as a template and update all the other pages from it. I know it's easier to change all the pages to php, but I'm delibertately not doing that... So, if you are interested, please take a look at the index page of InnocentEnglish.com, look at the source code, and tell me what you would charge to 1) clean up all extra html code (like a lot of extra "big, big small big, small big" etc.) 2) center the two tables and 3) center the logo and sunspiral flash at the top. Maybe you have to put the two tables in one hidden table, but somehow having the two tables as now, next to each other with a space, but being centered to each person's screen. The top logo and sunspiral would have to be centered as well. The end result would need to look the same as it does now, except centered. no glitches.... It's also important that the seo not be damaged... So if you are interested, let me know what you would charge, flat rate, to clean up the index page. I'm thinking it would take maybe an hour, but not sure. We might even be able to get this done in time for you to have a little more Christmas cash... I'll check in a couple of times in the next 12 hours, then tomorrow throughout the day. Thanks. Cafinater.
I'd center the table by putting it in its own wrapper element and centering its contents. Same with the header. BIG's and SMALL's can be replaced by span elements with font-size css properties. I'd charge you $25.00 to clean it up, does that sound fair? If so PM me back.
ill take 20$ please PM me for details - i will pimp out ur site, ppl will not call it ugly:> Update: Ill throw some SEO in:>
OK, i have someone doing the basic clean up. I will then be looking at what would be good to add to the basic page template, but someone is taking care of this first step. Thanks.
Now that you are getting it fixed, try and get the screen size side scrolling fixed as well... When using a 800x600 resolution, on a 15 inch monitor, I have to scroll a lot sideways to read from your website. Ask your designer to go for a "fluid" design. Bye
I might need programming. I'm starting with the very basics, fixing the code, which is being done, and then I'll go from there to see what's next. Thanks.
