I lost 7kgs just 2 month ago due to jaundice....I was 53kg and became 46 kg because of illness ... but till now in 2 months I gained 4 kg back now I am also 50KG with height 5-6. I know one thing that I started to eat too much and gaining weight. Still I don't eat junk foods, heavy proteins, eggs... but I am eating anything which I like as much as I can. I also drink different energy drinks and fruit juices. I hope this helps and you gain some weight
Ah... Hopefully I can help here. I also had a very hard time gaining weight. I am 22 right now and I got serious about trying to put on weight about a year ago. July 2007 I weighed ~59 kg (130 lbs), right now I weigh 77 kg (170 lbs) and I am about 6'0". "I have decided to do some weight training with light weight" That is one of your problems. You need to lift heavier weights, you want to shock your muscles into growing. Your first workout will need to be a testing phase, find out how much you can lift. You want to be able to do 10 reps and not be able to do the 11th rep. That is the weight you want to keep it at. If you are doing 12-13 reps without a problem, increase your weight you are lifting. When I started, my legs were already in pretty good shape from playing soccer, so I concentrated on my upper body. 2 sets of Bench press 2 sets dumb bell curls 2 sets wrist curls 2 sets reverse wrist curls 15 ab rolls using this I have recently substituted the Perfect Pushup for my bench press. I follow the routine that is provided on the chart. The full workout takes me less than 30 minutes. As far as lower body and cardio I have recently started doing High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT). Just follow the tables on this page. If you don't want to do that be sure that your lower body workout includes squats and leg presses. My week consists of: Monday: Upper body workout Tuesday: HIIT Wednesday: Upper body workout Thursday: HIIT Friday: Upper body workout Saturday: HIIT Sunday: Relax Now for food... I'm not sure what is available over there, and you already rules out pasta which is a good sized portion of my diet. Chicken and tuna are really good. Make sure your diet is healthy and clean. I have gained a little fat because I wasn't doing cardio until I started the HIIT and I was drinking a lot of milk and eating ice cream. That fat is now going away though. You definitely need a protein supplement, I highly recommend Optimum Nutrition's 100% Whey. I drink 2 scoops mixed with milk right after breakfast and right before bed. You might try finding this at an international store, if not bodybuilding.com ships for $10 internationally. You definitely need as much protein as you can get. Protein combined with shocking your muscles = guaranteed muscle growth. Also, PLENTY of water. I drink about 7.5 liters (2 gallons) a day. I hope this post is helpful and let me know if you need help or clarification with anything. I have typed this up rather quick as I am at work.
LOL!!! I'm sure a lot of chicks would LOVE it if they needed to make a thread like this!!! Need to gain weight?? Take in more calories that you use!!! Do some binge eating!!! Once I went from 135 pounts to 195 pounts doing that!!! Oh, and then I lived in da hospital for a week after surgery!!!
Thanks After all a nice post on what I need. Just some questions:- Is 7.5 lit water really needed? Any idea on what the meal before sleeping should be like? Heavy or light? What are sources of good fat? Butter? At this moment I will stick to the whey available over here with 65% content. Again thanks for taking your time out from work to help me. God bless if God exists. Oh yes, gave you a green rep for ya help.
Best way to increase fat according to me is start eating junk foods like ICECREAM, CHIPS, CHOCOLATES etc etc and ofcourse in large quantity and couple of times daily.
The 7.5 liters isn't completely necessary but water helps a lot and is essential for a healthy body. I would drink at least 2-3 liters a day if I were you. Also, cut back on caffeine too. Your meal at night should be your biggest meal of the day, then drink a shake right before going to bed. Butter isn't really a good source of good fats. You want nuts (almonds and walnuts are the best) and fish, salmon, halibut, and tuna being the best. How much does that 65% protein cost and how many grams of protein does it have per serving? Thanks for the rep
Well 65% whey costs around INR 320 or 8$ over here. Its 65% by weight, so for say 33gms serving someone gets just above 20gms whey. And I don't take caffiene, ciggarates or alcohol by the way. Whats the protien content in tuna. In fish available here the protien content is around 25% with 50-60% in dried fish. By the way pomphret is available here but I dunno how much protien it has? Thanks again.
One more thing, how many eggs a day is okay at max? I don't have any problems with eggs. And as pulses is availabe in plenty over here I have decided to take a lot of pulses a day.
I wish I had this problem. >:| Edit: Start counting how many calories you're eating each day. Try to eat like, three thousand a day. Don't eat unhealthy food, eat stuff that'll make you gain healthy weight.
mc donalds an plenty of it lol, i have lost a bit of weight over the last three years about 1 stone (14 pound) im 5 9 on now wiegh only 10st 4 but i was 11st 4 stopped going to the gym lost all my mussles
I believe there is no specific type of food to eat just make sure that the amount of food you eat is twice more than the amount of food you usually eat and have plenty of sleep...
Ok go into the kitchen right now....... look at everything in your fridge, grab it and eat it. Problem solved
Eat chicken,Meat and Eggs for gain weight. Lots of sleep also needed for this with above. BTW junk foods also help you to gain weight DON.
a buddy of mine told me to go on the Ben & Jerry's diet. 2 pints of Ben & Jerry's everyday and you'll put on the pounds.
