I am doing seo for a site name www.1099fire.com it has total backlinks(5058) current PR is 5 and google SERP is top 3 2nd site is www.realtaxtools.com it has (20,560) backlink and 1st is realtaxtools's subpage www.realtaxtools.com/1099software/1099software.html and it has(583) backlink. So I figure out if I will try to beat realtax subpage, it will be easy. So I decided to push my site's this page http://www.1099fire.com/software/1099software.htm currently it has (16 backlink). I am doing directory submissions for this page. Now suggest me pls is this a good decision ? I have not enough time for this job.
What you are doing is very good and what i feel if you do SMO then you may increase traffic of the website before that let me tell firstly you focus on Keywords to target and then keep doing Comment posting Forum Posting Yahoo answers Link Wheeling
First you check the back links for your website by searching this " link:www.1099fire.com". Ok here it has only 61 backlinks not 5058 ok. For you must do all off page activities in only high page rank dofollow websites for getting the best result.
Your site (homepage) is ranked #3, why not just push it up a little bit more by building high quality links. Links from related sites, or posts on high PR. It's not all about the number of backlinks. The many low quality backlinks a site have, the higher chance the site getting penalize. Links from article direcotories are of low quality too, it won't really give you that boost in SERP. So try to build more quality links going to homepage and see if it moves up. Also check your competition on what links they have. @nptifitness - doing link:domainname.com won't give you most backlinks a site have. You should use a tool for that, go search for it. Let me know if you need more help.
"Good" backlinks is the way to go indeed, as j3thro said, I would try to focus on the homepage since it's already ranked #4(for me anyways), if you don't have time to do it and have money to spend then it might be worth outsourcing some of the work to ease the workload.
