you don,t need edu and .gov, you need related websites, I just everyone to stop with this non-sense... if you have a website about jokes, how will help you if you will have a link on .edu domain? the best links are related ones..
maybe he wants .edu .gov links of no relevance and just for the backlinks so he can get marked along with all the other sheep as a spammer...
Yes.. I really don,t understand, who tell this guys about this practices? I can't believe that in our days are seo companies that still add your website in directories and in comments, I can't believe that people still pay for this kind of sh1t seo..
Mostly something Matt Cutts said in 2006 that perpetuated the myth of extra "authority" for such things from what I have seen taking shape in the ten years I have been watching SEO and in particular Google SEO things

Hi Passcrack thanks for shared your opinion with us and means you want to say that this tactics will harm to our e-commerce site but some one suggested to me that if you get the back link from .gov or .edu site so it is good for your e-commerce site but that time i was some confused so i didn't do this but according me this is grey hat seo. please tell me so how can I promote our e-commerce site and what is better practice for e-commerce site thanks
find other websites which promote producs, or speak on their blogs about some kind of producs, and ask them for a blog post, or a three way blog post exchange. If they don,t want offer them money depending their page rank, their unique content, etc
